Back in 1992, from Saint Tropez to Avignon, in the marvelous France
The Riviera is a paradise at our doorstep. After crossing the border you realize you are in another world. The landscape is almost lunar, from canyons and rugged mountains are also different. For this first trip to France we are under 5 km from Saint Tropez, camping Kon Tiki, on the beach at Pampelonne. Saint Tropez is fashionable and characteristic at the same time, pretty close to Port Grimaud, a kind of "Venice " rebuilt. To the north, we come to Antibes, a town with palm trees and gardens, Frejus, roman city, with its market and St.Raphael St.Maxime, right in front of Saint Tropez. A beautiful southern Le Lavandou and Bormes Mimosas. Feature Hyeres, facing the beautiful islands of Port Cros (natural park), Porquerolles (with endless pine trees) el'Isle du Levant. Inside, via Aix en Provence full of fountains we arrived in Avignon, a city of the popes majestic and magical in its austere simplicity. Do not miss the Gorge du Verdon, an impressive gorge through the mountains and the river green water.
