Ok after a very short walk, have lunch in an area equipped for the rest and then we decide to go and visit some villages in the lead by Sant'Antonino perched on a cucuzzolo 550 meters in height. It 'an ancient medieval village Balagne, all in stone, with cobbled streets, and corners Voltoni characteristic and quiet, all seasoned with breathtaking landscapes on the northern part of Corsica, a true gem. Left the village, towards the car park near shops for souvenirs and handicrafts, we stopped at the Cave Antonini producing jams and preserves with lemon for a fresh bercé lemonade served with ice, water and sugar will, at the tables of the tavern and to buy some jam jar of lemon to give to our return. Our tour was concluded on the street of the artisans, with a stop at the small village restored but not less characteristic of Pigna, between the lanes of which there are 5 or 6 shops that produce and market products.
Beaches in South East
The second week we spent in the most famous Corsican, "pilgrimage" to the beach on the beach along the coast from San Cipriano little over Bonifacio.
As the week of August, we adopted the tactic of "coming to the beaches of 9.00/9.30 in the morning to enjoy the tranquility and space for at least two hours, the other tactic proved successful was to" mark the territory "occupied with towels and defining with slippers, backpacks, masks and fins, a large area as possible from midday onwards cedevamo cm. per cm. but which remained until the end of the day in a living space.
The first beach we visited was near our house and that is the beach of San Cipriano at about 15 km north of Porto Vecchio. It 'a beautiful beach, very wide, with clear water and the seabed that slopes down gently and was high among our children due to a platform anchored offshore and with ladder, which served as the basis for their endless diving.
The beaches that follow each other along the coast from S. Cipriano to Boniface, is a most charming of the other.
E 'bellissima, hemmed by pine trees, the beach Palombaggia. Few km. To the south of Porto Vecchio, a street on the left about 12 km long, leads to a pine forest with a huge parking lot, but mostly free, so do not follow the directions of the parking fee even if they say "with access to the beach." Upon arrival, do not stop immediately but continued over the rocks you see to the sides and you will face a clear long beach edged with pine trees and a blue sea and trasparente.Qua and there are points of rest, but for the most part is can find their own space, even if the beach is not very developed in depth.
Rondinara.
To get to the beach Rondinara, you must cross the mountains to where the road crosses it is steep, narrow and curved in all but once started the descent, around every corner you find a postcard landscape, leaving increasingly glimpse semicircular shape of the beach, with calm water and blue. Even here the road ends in a parking lot, this time to pay a fixed price (4 euro) regardless of the when you arrive.
The beach has been unanimously the title of "most delicious beach is Santa Giulia.
You can define the Caribbean, with white beach, water, clear and with all the shades of blue and, like the Caribbean, you can not do without tuffartici continuously. Behind the beach, the pines create many shaded areas to be exploited for lunch or for a nap after a good meal in the restaurants on the beach, offering dinners, shows and even music in the evening. Impossible not to love and not come back.
A beach that certainly has characteristics similar to those of Santa Giulia, but give a more natural wilderness, is the Bay Roccapina unfortunately we have seen under a gray sky. After Bonifacio, towards Sartene the road winds through mountains with rocks that have the most strange and during the trip's up, you can identify the shapes of various animals until you arrive at a lookout. Stop your car and get off, we have seen the rock of Leone, where it seems that a huge stone lions guard the face of the beautiful beach Roccapina placed at the end of a long dirt road 2 km. Not to be missed!
For those who do not want to rush too much, I recommend strongly the zone of the Gulf of Santa Manza, just 7 km. by Boniface, where streets immersed in nature and along quiet beaches where the landscape begins to be very similar to the far end of the south of the island, with the typical white cliffs of the coast of Bonifacio.
A beach which although not as flashy as the other of us is much liked by the sharpness of the water and the fact that it is less crowded (only because less famous) is Cala Rossa (after San Cipriano, to Old Port) which is strongly .
In our wanderings we also visited the major cities of the areas where we were;
- Calvi: E 'consists of the lower part of the typical seaside town, and the high citadel that deserves a visit for the view, the peacefulness and the presence of the Foreign Legion; just climbed out of the walls is a small museum of the Legion with the opportunity to buy gadgets and clothing of military body.
- Ile Rousse: chaotic tourist town with many shops and markets.
- Court: Located in the heart of Corsica, and is in the middle of a valley surrounded by mountains, its houses are not kept at its best creates a somewhat 'old-fashioned. Do not miss the trip to the lookout.
- Porto Vecchio: The city's true is that high, with traditional streets full of shops and restaurants that offer more or less the same menu at the same prices. That portion of the marina can be reached by a train (3 euros A / R) and consists mainly from the harbor and the restaurants that overlook it.
- Bonifacio: You must spend at least one full day to admire the beauties of nature as the fjord and the white cliffs, to be able to browse through the steep streets of the historic center to admire the only church in the Gothic style of the entire Corsica or enjoy an ice cream sitting in the square facing the Strait of Bonifacio watching Sardinia.
- Sartene: This ancient town 30 km west of Bonifacio is perhaps the most characteristic of the cities visited. In the main square, behind the church, will embark on a series of very narrow streets which overlook stone buildings of 5 or 6 storey repaired by wind and sun. It 'really fun to go into stores or sit at the tables of bars and restaurants, located on the edge of the tiny open-side opening between the buildings.
In the end we can say that I have spent a great vacation because the places, the sea and nature are by far won the scrum and the rows along the streets.
Greetings to all and write if you have questions.
