From Padua to Fuessen, than Munich and Dachau

Fuessen

THURSDAY
Our first goal is Fuessen (M) ° which is in the Bavarian Alps on the border with Austria. We start from Padova on Thursday and already there is a little bit of traffic but quite smooth. On the border with Austria not forget to buy the stickers: sticker valid only with payment on all Austrian motorways. Cost: 7.70 valid for 10 days (unless you can not). However, the height of Innsbruck is another toll to 8 euros.
When you arrive in Fussen (M) °, we stop at 'rest area (M) which is located just outside the town but still convenient for those who bike and two adjacent market. The area is full because we have come in the evening but we place even if a bit 'tight.
Now we just settled for a ride to the country which is small and comfortable, with picturesque streets. The town and its surroundings are worth a visit even more prolonged because it is surrounded by 5 lakes all connected by beautiful bike paths. We pass by the fountain near the feature 'information office where to get the appropriate maps. But the thing that drew us here is the famous castle of Neuschwanstein (H) (W) ° ° we will visit tomorrow morning, tickets can be purchased at the ticket office in the village at the foot of the castles.

FRIDAY
Early, we walked, the ride is easy and pleasant, about 4 km away from the castles of Neuschwanstein (H) (W) ° ° and Hohenschwangau (M).
To see what it looks like the fairy tales of Sleeping Beauty. It is definitely worth a visit, it was built, commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria sensitive and contradictory character whose fascinating history is constantly invoked in the visit, and there are only frescoes and views. MONACO Munich / München

We leave to get to Monaco (W) ° ° and since there were already about 130 km after we go straight to the camping Thalkirchen (Zentrallandstrasse 49) (H). The camp in itself says nothing but the best is that it is near the center, surrounded by greenery and the bike path that runs along the river Isar °. The ride of about 6 km to the city center is very nice and all, but who does not have the bike to bus stop at the entrance of the camp. (You can buy tickets at the reception cost 1.50 each).

Saturday
In the center are many things to visit, we walk Maximilianstrasse ° to arrive at Max Joseph Platz ° where there is the National Theatre, turn right in with a visit to Residenzstrasse Odeonsplatz ° °, the beautiful square where you will find the gardens of the Residenz ° right and left Theatinerkirche (W) ° and then back to Theatinerstrasse is Via full of trendy shops. Continuing we find to be almost under the two bell towers that characterize the famous Frauenkirche (W) °.
We break the bike because we are practically in the main street of Monaco 's crowded Kaufingerstrasse ° °, we run into Michael's (W) ° and reach up to Karlstor °, the door that closes out the west of the center. Let's go back because they do not forget to be in Marienplatz ° ° where there is the Neue Rathaus (M) (new city hall) ° °, which at 12 or 17 or 21 to see the puppets on the carillon clock tower at the stroke time comes to life.
We are hungry and enjoy a light come on in Orlandostrasse 3 in one of the local chain VINZENZMURR. This is where you find self-service salad bar by weight, ready meals or take away a very good price. (We spent 24 euros for 3 people). Here are a few steps from the famous brewery Hofbraeuhaus (Platzl 9) (W) (M) ° °, we will be back for dinner but also because the square where is located is one of the most beautiful city. Got on the bike and head to where there is Sedlingerstrasse Asamkirche ° ° from the beautiful Baroque facade and reach the Tor Sedlinger ° which borders the southern part of the center. It 'now time for dinner at the famous brewery Hofbraeuhaus (Platzl 9) (W) (M) ° °, and huge old brewery with bunks and benches and on the band playing Bavarian music. Famous shin and a pint of beer (ottima!) cost 45 euros for three people. Happy and satisfied we return to our camper and given the distance when you finally arrive at our campsite litrozzo is completely disposed of beer! Along the path of the Isar is full of young people partying and impromptu barbecue on the river bank.

Sunday
Today you go to the Deutsches Museum (W) (M) °, museum of science and technology. (Open daily from 9 am to 17:00 cost 9 euros per person) A beautiful and ancient though after seeing the new Nemo in Amsterdam and one in Lisbon, this we felt it was really a bit 'too old and often with a lot of salt out of , however, really full. The fact is that we spend less than 5 hours and we're going to make a walk in the Viktualienmarkt · To help us with a bratwurst sandwich and a beer. The market is folklore: fruits, vegetables, local specialties, craft items ... the center of the square there is a totem with the flags of the beers produced in Monaco: Augustiner (W) (M), Hacker-Pschorr (W) (M) , HB (W) (M), Löwenbräu (W) (M), Paulaner (W) (M), Spaten (W) (M). MONDAY
Starting over! Our destination is Copenhagen, but in reality to break up the trip quite long we decide to make a stop first at Dachau and then to Hameln.
Dachau (W) is about 30 km north of Monaco and we are interested in the Concentration Camp (W) (M) °, as indicated Gedenkstaette KZ-Dachau. There are no words to describe who was the first extermination camp of the Third Reich and who were recruited mostly local citizens (and therefore hard to understand how in the country were unaware of what was happening inside ...) . The visit commits us to 2 hours and a bit 'shocked we continue our journey.

Hamelin, Moen, Copenaghen (Denmark)

Hamelin

The journey proves to be a long and tiring (600 km) and we find many queues (there are in Germany not only in Italy), which led the journey time from 5 to 9 hours. For those who know the tales Hameln (M) ° is the country of the Pied Piper (S) (Rattenfaengen) of the Brothers Grimm and it seems to be a beautiful country. Dead tired we head in 'area camper Hannes Weserblick (Ruthenstrasse 14), (22 seats) located in the town center and luck has it that we find the last free place and out of the parking meter. TUESDAY
We are ready to explore this nice little town ... hey the impression from last night is the same as this morning ... but where is everybody?? All pretty little town on the history of the Pied Piper (Rattenfaengen) and visit a couple of hours, nice views, beautiful pictures, but a little 'sorry. And then the path marked with the mice rarely seen ... We drive along the main street Baekerstrasse ° and then Osterstrasse ° where there is the House of the Pied Piper and we enter the narrow streets that attract us more ... and then again ...

MOEN

Denmark here we come! (1 Euro Currency Danish krone 7.44 crowns). We decided to ferry you Puttgarden (H) 350 km away from Hamelin, since the ride is shorter and there are more ferries. Upon arrival we find a station like toll gates, organized and fast. Cost of a camper and 3 guests 64 euros. Everything is very efficient, all on its own row, zac in fast already left, half an hour by ferry to RODBYHAVN, zac shoo all down fast! Before going to Copenhagen we decided to stop for a day at Sun Island with stunning reefs to 100 km away from RODBYHAVN. In the tip of the island is camping Mons Klint (H) ° very nice and very organized (price per night camping 3 people running around EUR 48 334 Danish kroner, showers with hot water for a fee).

WEDNESDAY
This place has attracted the catalog that showed white cliffs, vast green fields here and actually hits the silence, the sound of the wind, the gulls, nature, peace and tranquility. Opposite the entrance of the camp is a path that winds through fields and woods until you get close to the cliff Moens Klint (H) ° °. 500 wooden steps leading down to the beach at the foot of steep white cliffs. The water is clear and not particularly cold and the beach is pebbles blacks. Weather: it seems that the morning is always rather gloomy with clouds and drizzle, then the wind blows everything around noon and the sun comes up in the evening.

THURSDAY
Starting over in the direction of Copenhagen. We suffered a small break in the church of Elmelunde °, very pretty and characteristic, and later in the center of Stege, the capital of the island.

COPENHAGEN / Koebenhavn

After 142 km we arrive in Copenhagen (H) (T) and we decide to stop at the camping Bellahoej (Hvidkildevej 66) ^. This is not a real camp, but a great green lawn where you can put where you want. E 'supplied electricity but do not expect much ... of course there are all the services but is a very spartan, but it is spacious and convenient to go downtown 4.5 km (bike or bus) 232 kronor per day, around 33 euro (pitch / 3 persons / current).
We start now with our bicycles and begin balde 's exploration of the city. But before we go to 'Information Office (M) to the appropriate maps. Finally, we spend the evening in Stroeget ° ° which is practically the center of Copenhagen and partly from the Town Hall Raehuspladsen ° to Nytorv Hoejbro Plads ° °. On the way back we see that we rode for a distance of less than 19 km.

FRIDAY
It's raining here but the wind is so strong that within an hour the sun comes out and then harnessed the sweatshirts we head back downtown.
This morning we are dedicated to beer, in fact we will visit the famous Carlsberg brewery, but since we are in a bike and is 8 km away from the campsite, the first step for the beautiful and lush parks Fredreriksberg Have th and with all its slots and Soendermarken 'even inside the zoo. We start visiting the famous Carlsberg Brewery (W) (Gamle Carlsbergvej 11) 60 ° entrance crowns (8.50 million), up to 17 years 40 crowns (5.50 million) including two tastings each, children under 17 reduced admission with soft drink . On the way back we see that we rode for a distance of less than 28 km.

Weather forecast: strong wind that brings rain easily especially in the night and morning sun for the rest of the day although it is not unusual arrival of a very fine rain that nobody seems to notice. Temperature felpetta.

We confirm that Denmark is quite expensive, you want to change the Danish krone / euro (7.40), or for the cost of living higher. Anyway, we did not find anything really apart from the typical to buy smoked herring and a good supply of salmon. Circular bike is quiet and safe, even if they have not discovered the use of roundabouts and streets teeming with traffic lights. One feels a strong sense of security so that everybody goes around in a bike basket on the rear left unattended bags and computer ... (even by us!)

Saturday
Reluctantly we leave Copenhagen and point the nose of the camper to the South.

Lubeck, Berlin

Luebeck
After RODBYHAVN ferried to take a short break after 270 km in Lubeck (H) ° characteristic for its port (Holsten) ° ° and its historic center and an attribute of 'Unesco (W). Parking is easily found by following the signs to the center and taking the left or those who want to stay more than a day at the campsite Schoenboecken (H). The city is renowned for producing marzipan since 1800. We, the curious, we tried to Niederegger (H), but we believe that the primacy should remain in Sicily.

Berlin / Berlin
Sunday

Our first stop is Unter den Linden (under the lime trees) ° the avenue running from the monumental Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor) ° ° (M) to the Cathedral (H) °.
Here we witness the opening of the games and the marathon was very exciting given that Italy was in the lead for almost the entire race.

Since Unter den Linden, the monumental avenue of the city is blocked for the marathon, while we go to Potsdamer Platz. From the square starts Ku'damm (Kuerfuerstendamm) °, the most important shopping street in Berlin, where there are the most famous fashion shops in the city. On the opposite side of the Zoo's Breitscheidplatz (M) then we go into Tiergarten (M) ° the park and back to the Brandenburg Gate (Brandenburger Tor) (M) ° ° because we expect a concert. When we return in campers find that today we covered 16km.

MONDAY '
Even now turn around and we plan to visit the Pergamon Museum (M) ° el 'Altes Museum (M) located at the so-called Museum Island (Museum) (M) declared Patrimony of' Unesco (H) is an island formed by the Spree, the river that runs through Berlin, to make it walk Oranienburgerstrasse where among other c 'is the New Synagogue. TUESDAY
Riding our bikes in Berlin we travel far and wide through the modern Main Railway Station in Berlin, Tiergarten (M) °, Schloss Bellevue, the residence of the head of government, the column Grosser Stern up to Schloss Charlottenburg (M ) ° ° (6 euros per person, students free). In addition to a beautiful park ° °, the castle is definitely worth seeing (even if it looks small in the various Schonbrunn or Versailles) evisitabile in a couple of hours. Today is very hot, and then we make a nice walk around the park before deciding to go out to eat. Today you go to China as reported by the guide Routard the best in Berlin (confirmed), Good Friend (H) Kantstrasse 30, (33 euro 3) °.
Just streets and museums this afternoon shopping and then turn away in the direction Ku'damm (Kuerfuerstendamm) °, because of costs. When we return in campers find that today we covered 24 km. It's last night in this beautiful and modern city, now we miss a few days before returning home.

Prague and finally Attersee in Austria

PRAGUE
WEDNESDAY '
We leave Berlin in the direction of Prague (H). At the border buy the Vignette czech 9 euros (1 euro 25.77 Currency czech crown crowns). The route of 380 km is quiet but the trauma we have to get to the Caravan Park in Cisarska Louka where we had decided to stay (1262 SEK = 57 euro for 2 nights). If you have the GPS better, we shot like crazy. Finally we reach the camp site, careful not to confuse the camp, you have to go to the last that is comfortable because it is served by a ferry into town cost a / r 150 crowns. We just walk around without a bike (there are no bike paths), to realize the situation and now we see that Prague is quite crowded. (Tell us to be careful of pickpockets). On our island we travel up the river Vltava in Jiraskuv Most practically at the foot of the Dancing House (Dum Tancici) (W) °, where we note the curious architecture, and on foot we head toward the center. THURSDAY '

FRIDAY '
We are running out, and then reluctantly left Prague in the direction of Italy, not before he stopped in a supermarket for the supply of beer Pilsner Urquell (W) and Gambrinus, which of course here is very convenient. On the way back, via Ceske Budejovice we stop for a picnic in the tranquil pond Štilec Kamenný Újezd.

ATTERSEE
The return trip is always longer then the height of round 360 km Salzburg after we decide to stop at Lake Attersee ° at Unterach (H), a nice swimming lake surrounded by mountains. It appears that the seaside resort of Salzburg and all so it is very crowded, we recommend to all camping without stopping to ask if there is room, to go straight to the camping Insel (H) ° 24 euros per night. It 'nice, quiet, with lawn and dock on the lake. Do not miss a nice bath, the water is so cold and the view is worth.

Saturday
After visiting the country and another refreshing bath (very hot) at 11.00 we leave the camp and leave again. To not take the highway that leads us to Monaco, we take the road to the motorway a bit 'lower the height of Kufstein. The road is very scenic and picturesque. But it's also lunchtime! If you are on this road you absolutely must stop to eat at Gasthaus Blankenwirt ° in the near Lofer, venison stew and venison fillet never eaten so good ... armed with German because the owner knows only that (as well as gestures will do) spent euro 30 in 3.
