A weekend in Lubeck... Traveling to Germany
In January 2004 I decided to take my daughter for 5 years to spend a weekend unusual.
Turning a bit 'on the internet I see that among the destinations of the flights from Bergamo Ryanair' s Hamburg but, incidentally, is shown Lübeck.
This means that the 'plane landed in Hamburg, Lubeck and continue along a bus to coincide with the' arrival of the flight, which leads to the destination after a hundred miles.
At that moment I thought "ok, the destination is Hamburg, but if I want to stop in Lübeck who forbids me?"
I confess that I did not know much of this city, I had seen years before on a photograph of a cataolgo for organized tours by bus, a strange building with two inverted cones on the roof (I will speak later), but I knew nothing 'else.
The city's name I liked, so I started a search for tourism sites with photos, maps, etc..
The more I tried, the more I liked it so I book a flight for 2 to 60 euros per person all inclusive and a room in a hotel at 65 euros including breakfast.
We start from Bergamo on a sunny afternoon and we arrive at 'Airport Lübeck (the rain) with 15 minutes early in style Ryanair, after 1 hour and 35 minutes of flight. In the 20 minutes 'bus No. 6 takes us to the center (child free!) To reach easily from there' s hotel and spend the evening. Dinner was fantastic, we ate some strange but good chops with peas, carrots and French fries. Upon account the surprise: free offer. We thought we had understood correctly, but it was true: on Saturday c 'is a promotion and pay only what you want, from 1 to $ 1000 free offer.
The early morning hours we get up and eat breakfast abundant: desserts of all kinds, sausage, onions, raw fish, fruit, etc..
Expect l 'bus to the center which, of course, comes right on time. I noticed that the means of transport punctuality is crucial here: if on 'Time' s written 8 and 2 minutes, you can rest assured that at 8 and 2 minutes you will open the entrance of the 'bus.
Let's take a walk and finally we see the 'Holsten, l' iconic building of Luebeck, located on the banks of the river Trave.
It 'a kind of building - castle with 2 towers in conical peaks. Beautiful, though in photography seemed bigger.
Having a few hours to catch a train in 20 minutes brings us to Travemunde, a beautiful resort on the Baltic Sea, with a large beach where in summer plays an 'important race of sand castles. Meanwhile the sun is out, and the wind makes it 's very clear air: cobalt blue sea and blue sky postcard.
Travemunde known for turning an interesting spa complete with indoor swimming pool and water slides can also be used in winter: shame not to have more time.
Let us take the train that takes us back to Lubeck. We climb on a bus (by the way: the ticket is bought by the 'driver. You pay depending on destination) for the center. After some stops and get off in a square and walk the streets of the center.
Here you will really appreciate the city: streets, houses with strange curved roof, the Cathedral and other churches with their steeples sharp, colorful buildings, and the river surrounding the city center. Parks, geese, ducks, street musicians, courtyards nascisti el 'inevitable McDonald's, where (of course) I have to take my fliglia.
Hours pass camminado and approaching the time to leave. Let us take the 'bus' s airport, which is equipped with a new terminal consists of a tent .... Small airport with a bar and dear hyper-clean bathrooms (we are in Germany, mica, kitty, yap yap!), But with a small playground for children.
Meanwhile the sun sets, we check in, and 15 minutes before the 'departure we are already in flight! Amazing Ryan! This allows us to atter in Orio with fewer than 30 minutes early.
The weekend is over but it was really intense, just a wonderful adventure with my daughter, who has made us see places that we would not have imagined.
Destination advice to everyone, but I recommend: always and only with hand luggage, ok?
