Berlin, the capital of Germany, reunited after the fall of the Wall, rebuilt in part and still under renovation, is now perhaps the leading city and state of the art not only of Europe but the world.
Multi-ethnic city, very green and relaxing, full of museums, parks, theaters and neighborhood characteristics such as Kreuzberg and Prenzlauer Berg. In short, a must-not miss for those who want to stay in touch with modern reality and the past and recent history

I've always snubbed after watching documentaries, photos, stories, etc. ..
then the time has come, thanks to the proximity to Poland that I chose for my new journey in Eastern Europe.
I must admit that I was an idiot because Berlin is perhaps the most beautiful and interesting city in Europe.
My daughter has visited the other year and he immediately said he wants to settle in Berlin to live in that city which above all gives young people not only fun but also a good chance to work or study.
And I now agree with you, if I had his best years, I would try to live in this great capital.
Why? Why Berlin is the city at the forefront of everything and is very livable, very pleasant, not at all stressful as other European cities, no chaos, no traffic impossible, nothing bad air and instead a multiethnic city, open to the top of every aspect of Modern life, well organized and administered, with bicycle lanes on every street (and I'm a fan of cycling and practical transportation in the few runways of Milan), a living city in terms of culture and great architecture with the best that professional were expressed at best in this huge yard took over the collapse of the wall.
I lived there 5 days a big, coming from the beautiful Krakow, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, so I was very picky about it, but Berlin did not disappoint me, even me pleasantly surprised.
It 's the second largest city in the world after Los Angeles that I know very well but that is much lower in many respects.
I state that I love Los Angeles for some of its aspects, but Berlin has entered into me more, maybe because European culture is far superior to American business and more interested in the appearances that the real culture.

I tried to compare it with the most beautiful cities in the world, Paris, but Berlin emerges winner even if I was in Paris in 1969 and then in 1979 so I have not seen the last modernizations, such as Les Halles.
Berlin, the Spree is more beautiful than the Seine, has museums like the Pergamon and the Neues Museum on the island as the Bode Museum and other museums of Berlin on the whole are greater than the Louvre.
If Paris's Pigalle and Montmartre, with great responds to Berlin Kreuzberg, Schöneberg and Preslauer Berg.
If Paris has the Eiffel Tower, the Berlin TV Tower, the symbol of the GDR, former East Germany.
And if Fointenbleau Versailles and Paris, Berlin, the Charlottenburg Palace of Sans Souci and the Neues Palais in Potsdam and an hour meter.

And if Paris Les Halles (which I have not seen), Berlin's Potsdamer Platz is a triumph of tasteful modern architecture also because of our architect Renzo Pianoma also many other world famous.

What about a city that makes you all very easy and organized with the usual German precision and care but at the same time is crazy and is experienced as an alternative to Kreuzberg, a triumph of multi-ethnicity, murals, pubs, music for every taste, location of various kinds, to the point where you disembark hordes of young people from around tourism, but also limousine of the usual eccentrics who should be noticed that but they can not but visit the neighborhood is not properly painted and luxurious.
There are places in Kreuzberg, which sent me into raptures. Fortunately I was staying at the Motel One in Moritzplatz Orianenstrasse adjacent to, the most lively and full of bars and pubs where the pulsing nightlife.
There are local Indians, Nepalese, Chinese lamps and statues of Buddha and Krishna in a profusion of lights and special effects and then Mexican restaurants and others with Bohemian chandeliers and soft lighting. I remember the simple but impressive Buccaneer housed in an old and deep backyard, with a bridge entrance lit by flares and hippy atmosphere, a huge building and adjoining wall but with a looming effect for customers who can enjoy the same or the starry sky sitting on comfortable chairs, sipping a cocktail or a beer while listening to rock known effect.

Berlin has a special charm along the Spree River, its river that meanders through various passes the most beautiful areas of the metropolis.
We sail boats carrying hundreds of tourists who want to enjoy the beautiful city by the river while others remain on the shore sat in lounge chairs to enjoy the breeze fliuvale and the surrounding green parks.
But we come to Berlin architectural and art that are part of the lion, the Berlin Cathedral is fairly new but its a good impression with its imposing appearance, as the famous Brandenburg Gate and the streets of futuristic Potsdamer Platz and Alexander Platz in which have expressed the most prestigious international architects such as ours Renzo Piano.
They are not the usual impersonal skyscrapers of New York or Shanghai, but the incomparable taste to marry modern forms and slender glass and steel with a mix of meadows where Berliners sunbathing, trees that grow in the midst of concrete, open spaces with fountains, restaurants, theaters, cinema 3d, actually a live environment and adapted to the needs of the public or tourists passing through.
And if we talk about the show, shows, concerts, Berlin is second to none. The classical music is queen, but also the musical. Friedrichstrasse, the main street of boutiques and large banks, houses the Friedrichpalais where every night you can see great shows that have nothing to envy to the Lido or Crazy Horse Paris.
Then there are musicals in programming: Dirty dancing at Potsdamer Platz, the musical "Twist and Shout" by the Beatles and arriving July 15, CABARET with Tippy to recall the great film with Liza Minnelli.

We enter the tragic memory of the Holocaust.
Berlin also remember and honor the millions of fallen with the recent monument in front of the German Parliament, then the wall of the Jewish ghetto and a photo exhibition next door.
If we talk of museums, already mentioned, the Pergamon Museuem is the absolute king with the white marble altar of Pergamon, a Greek colony on the Turkish coast to Greece, which faces north and south of Troy, Ephesus.
The bas-reliefs and statues dating from 180-150 BC White are exceptional as the Babylonian Ishtar gate in blue and yellow with depictions of various animals and the imposing gate of Miletus and the sumptuous wood walls decorated with a nobleman's house in Aleppo Syria. For those students of the archeology, the best museum in the world, exceeding even the famous British Museum in London.
