Tour of the famous castles of King Ludwig II in Bavaria, Germany

To bridge the June 2, 2009 we decided to go by car from Milan to visit the castles of Bavaria. To travel the highways in Austria you must purchase the sticker after the border for 10 days at a cost of 7.6 €. The fuel prices lower in Austria than in Italy.<br />We stayed three nights, divided as follows:<br /><br />1 night in Frasdorf (8 miles from Prien am Chiemsee)<br /><br />2nd and 3rd night Schwangaustrong (1 km from the famous castles of Hohenschwangau and Neuschwastein).<br /><br />For accommodation we have chosen pensions and b & b. What Schwangaustrong (Weiher pension) was very nice and very kind lady, I would recommend seen the great value (56 € the double room with private bathroom and breakfast) and the proximity to the castles (there is no need to travel car).<br /> If you plan to visit the castles of Herrenchiemsee (7 € each), Linderhof (7 € each) and Neuschwastein (9 € each) family should buy the ticket that lasts 14 days and is valid for a family of 5 persons ( we were only two but it was equally convenient) and costs € 36 total. The family ticket allows entry to other places, the full list is here:<br /><br />http://www.schloesser.bayern.de/englisch/palace/index.htm<br /><br />The car parks are pay, the cost varies depending on bike parking / car / camper, and we have spent for a car Linderhf € 2.50, in Prien am Chiemsee € 3 to Steingaden (where the Wierkirche) a € 0.50 and the first subsequent deed.<br />Keep on hand a bit 'of money in different places (where you pay an entrance fee) you pay to use toilets.<br />For when the power supply for two unique dishes based on meat, two desserts and two small beers ... we are averages (50 cl) and spend the 40 € in half. The water is very expensive. The restaurants close quite early in the evening.
