A delightful holiday in the tiny island of Kos, Greece
Finally holiday! We started with a new airline (blue-express) with which we were very good. Departure from Rome in the evening. We stayed all'Aegean Village (Kos), 4-star hotel, choosing the half board. The structure is excellent, the food good, the nearby sea and clear. Unfortunately there are many stones in water, but with suitable shoes (6-9 euros at the supermarket) there are no problems.
We did 3 excursions: the first in Turkey (see), the second of the three bays (Kefalos in particular deserves a lot), and finally Kos Town. Does (economically) arrange for a tour operator. There are many in the city. The good thing is that treat only the transportation, then you are free to do what you want.
In Kos town is the famous plane tree of Hippocrates, under which (according to legend) the same Hippocrates taught. This is also where the first hospital in history and the only Catholic church of the island.
I highly recommend, as a restaurant in Kardamena, the "Posidonia" (photo), which is just entering the city, fresh fish and friendly. Spaghetti with seafood (photo) is a goodness, as well as grilled squid.
