A fantastic holiday trip to Santorini, hot island of Greece

I returned from holiday last night
After 2 hours and 30 travel to get to the airport of Santorini. . looks like a tiny ehehhe our bus, the buses depart from there that lead in small towns, in our case in the town of Kamari, a small built on the seashore. . Do you think that originally there was an area completely deserted, the original city was built on the mountain and then they realized that it could be a nice area of the sea and they built the whole town at the foot of the mountain.
... curiosity in these parts there are no roads as we ... (mah?), they take as a reference point or shop signs in our case the name of the apartment residence (katrakis), thinks you. .
Another curiosity here is all dear! careful where you go to eat and shopping, I ask 16, 00 euro for a pasta dish (rather than eat it in Italy) or 7, 00 euro for a pound of ham!! It also lets people do not fish, if frozen fish is okay, if you like the fish has been badly exposed on the cart at the entrance of the restaurant for seven consecutive days as we saw during our evening walks along the beach, so watch out !
In the morning when we woke up it was great .... blinded by the sunlight that iflette white Greek houses, see the landscape around us, lots of houses all white co blue doors and windows, the blue sky here in london was never seen without a single cloud !
We are greeted by a local Italian guide who gave us two suggestions on the most beautiful places, places to eat and places you do not eat, we rented a scooter and now we left for the first round of patrolling the island of Santorini.
First stop in Fira (the capital)
The whole town built up over the sea, under the sun with some shade, sometimes created by the tents of the shops. . as jewelry stores or souvenirs. Fira has a great view to be left open-mouthed, on the one hand, the earth ... and the other a high cliff overlooking the sea and the volcano in front of us!!
If you were going to go to dinner or Fira Nicolaus or Argos, the first a small restaurant where the menu is all written in greek and is explained by a waiter who knows about 5 languages, including Italian, and he will advise you on what to taste, I recommend:
appetizer of stuffed grape leaves and rice ol'insalata Greek octopus with potatoes
first and second: a great amount I got the moussaka
(A kind of eggplant parmesan with extra meat and cheese) dish
otherwise the squid sauce with rice (almost always hard ... we do not know much to do with rice)
desserts (if you do it yet) many types of dessert, I tried the sweet milk and honey, very good !!!!! or typical greek yogurt and much more .... .
are fast to serve, should you wait there is a comfortable sofa to relax on the entry.
Prices affordable for all of us in two MNGIE with all that we've spent 34 euro in two !!!!!
The second Argos is a bit more very nice restaurant, is located near the gold away from the donkey station, very romantic atmosphere with the moon, light the streets and the candles .... . romantic view of the city ... the same things to try here instead taste the flesh .... Okkio and the portions (a portion of them is, for two), for example, where you'll find grilled meat sausages their typical! Here also you can eat very well, it costs a bit more but I assure you there is worth it!!
Second stage: Red Beach
Today we did a long tour through Perissa (on the other side of the island) to get there we had to circumnavigate the mountain! Nothing particular to report the beach belonging to the soul of people is 17 and becomes a small miniature Rimini with local music and parties.
From there we moved towards Red Beach this time a remarkable niche as you will see from the photos you attach below! What is more surprising is the arrival, you find yourself in front of a hill made of boulders and across the red sea! seem about to fall at any moment. . then climb a path up the hill and you can see from this beautiful beach that looks more like a landscape of Mars! The strange thing is that you can walk on water's edge without hurting contrary to Genoa, which is all in sharp rocks ...
Third stage:
Gita on the volcano (Nea Kameni) sailing boat and swim in thermal waters, island (Thirassia) to sunset (Oia)
I can say that this was the best part of the holiday, before the red beach and the excursion on the volcano that was something crazy! There is the volcano comes with sailboats, the sea for those who suffer as I do not have to worry about the long journey is not a party to the other and above the sea is not rough like us ... but if you think you suffer the same travel bring the gum!
The trip to the volcano is very tiring, I had to stop three times to rest and then to drink, it's not there or drink food or shade. It takes comfortable shoes sneakers possibly because the climb is quite steep, is full of pebbles that roll down, a little cap with cord otherwise fly away! Once arriving on the top is truly spectacular Santorini see all the 'high! ! At one point you hear the sound of a siren that announces the time to go to the hot springs!
It takes the boat and go across the island where there are hot springs, which do not stink, but a lot of dirty brown, I advise you not to wear a white dress or you care about mine is brown all over again now! Unfortunately, the ship can not approach a lot therefore we must throw out of the boat and swim to reach the hot springs ... more or less will be a 100 meters to go swimming and you finally reach the fantastic hot springs! There were a group of Japanese are close to us who were enjoying the hot water and being close to them I felt very in Japan in their waters, the waters of about 4 degrees warmer than sea water. . there you are immersed in hot water for 10 minutes a quarter of an hour, then comes the usual siren calls. . and now comes the bad part :-( ((from there you must swim in the warm up to the ship, plunging again into the cold water ... I assure you that it is not at all pleasant!
From the hot springs we took the boat and we stopped at (Thirassia), a fishing village that lives only in those few hours a day of travel to reach the island. We finally had lunch with the fish of the place (be careful not to get fooled, 16 euro a plate of pasta!) Consigliatoci driving, the restaurant was a fish in every way! then you will see from the photos below, my boyfriend is also eaten a "octopus arm" (pictured at left) that is as long as the whole pot crazy! Do you think if you can catch an octopus, the restaurant you cook it for free! Good fishing to all! Andre on the island can visit the village on the mountain with the mule, we have preferred to have a good night's sleep on the shore of the beach with clear water.
