"Do not expect to see the sun shine on Ireland" ... these are the words of the master of the small B & B where we spent the first night in Galway, Lord, covered with a heavy wool orange vest, tried to pull up the morale of face of incessant rain.
We had arrived just two days and the weather did not seem to want to give us respite.

The heavy clouds, rain, the roar of the strong wind ... have not done that give this country an even deeper fascination .. a green and pleasant land .. but at the same time harsh and inhospitable .. seemingly frozen in time ... in a dimension where the man in the landscape is just a detail, not a ruler.

In the valleys of Connemara fall colors you never stop to look at the horizon, a few meters and everything can change, from the hills to the lakes, mountains, solitary touching the clouds heavy with rain, the city does not seem nothing more than small villages .. few houses, silence, the color of emerald grass of the deserted plains of Ireland.
Contrasted with luxuriant vegetation, the Burren looks like a desert of stones, and near the sea, solitary beaches between rocky smoothed by time, the Cliffs of Moher, impressive in their shapes and sizes ... trapping them a thousand wind between ledges and coves producing strange sounds. And then a deep sense of vertigo makes us uncertain in the journey, strong currents seem to want to drag the ground, remain attached to the reef to enjoy the extraordinary spectacle of the sea .. waves are hurled against the rocks with a fury never seen before.

Castles and ruins along the road back to Galway ... a quiet residential area, lined with Bed & Breakfast, which appear to be more numerous than the actual holiday, but especially the city of Galway is Evelyn James Joyce's ... other than the starting point to the most fantastic locations in Ireland.

Farther south, the Dingle Peninsula, with its harbors hidden among dark rocks, which, jagged, rely water like the fingers of one hand. In the little town of fishermen, you can relax in one of many places with live Irish music, eat a hot stew of fish and potatoes, perhaps in front of a healthy pint of Guinness served at room temperature ... strictly!

Even if the few days available to us do not leave they would not resist the temptation of seeing the Giant's Causeway, the famous beach, probably of volcanic origin, characterized by blocks of stone perfectly hexagonal .. truly an amazing place! It is worth extending the way back to stop at least half a day in this place .. surrounded by sumptuous farms in Northern Ireland.

Left Ireland from its capital .. Dublin ... gray and clogged with traffic, as relaxed if you take a walk ... everything is at hand and do not even need public transportation to the places of interest.
Enjoy walking for 20 minutes you arrive at Giunness Storehouse, the famous beer factory, where the entry ticket includes a fabulous complimentary beer, best enjoyed on the terrace over the city .. thermometers indicate the exact temperature to savor the most of its organoleptic qualities.

Besides the famous Trinity College, Dublin is home to several important museums such as the Gallery of Modern Art, but the actual timing of the city are its pubs with live music, are also open for lunch, especially ideal retreat when it starts to rain down 'sudden!
Usually, when the musicians to perform end, the customer moves to another room and so on, also for the whole afternoon and all evening ...

Before resuming the air and returning our rental car right hand drive, to which we had already attached, we stopped quickly at Monasterboice to see the famous Celtic crosses and their complex work of sculpture in a historic cemetery, surrounded by campaign.

Suggestion: - You choose the fly-drive because public transport is very scarce and car guarantees full autonomy.
Sleep-not only the B & B but also in family farms .. the morning you wait for a fantastic breakfast!
