Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day in Bordighera and the Exotic Garden was a pleasant surprise as well as original visit. The 6 euro for the tour are well spent and the visit lasts about an hour, you park in the few places at the entrance of the garden and the visit is free. The entrance is a small succulent plants including resale of the beautiful miniature potted, strange and colorful.
I came in at 14:00 because the garden was remarkably open during the lunch break, which is not always the case during the year, the path is fairly well studied, a staircase that winds uphill to the hill and at times there are terraces and greenhouses visit, small green spaces and terraces of cacti and succulents such as Aloe Vera. The type of cactus is vast and present forms of plants are really curious. Every so often there is a bench for a rest and within it there are no bar or other refreshments. The garden was born as a private collection, from classic cactus then find it from Mexico, Texas, Agentina, Peru, Bolivia and several other, strange, tall, big, round, with flowers, some very thorny and covered with a strange white fuzz. In addition to the cacti are palm trees, some flowering plant that gives a touch of color, prickly pears and the beautiful miniature potted, strangest and most colorful in the greenhouse at 40 degrees.
Inside is a study where the architect and the dr. Pallanca conduct studies of external compositions and embellishments for gardens, the resort is in harmony with the environment and the visit is accompanied by the pleasant view of the sea of Bordighera.
From the hills high above the sea you can enjoy a nice view and some terraces are perfect for photographs with deep blue backgrounds.
The garden is extremely well kept, nice, neat and clean although it is a melting pot of plants and flowers inside a home is probably the owner who lives immersed in this world of succulents in the sun just steps from the Ligurian France.
An exotic botanical garden of the ordinary and very nice I recommend especially on a beautiful sunny day as I was lucky enough to have me.
Bordighera is adjacent Ospedaletti and near San Remo, bordering with France.
entrance, there will be 'given a coupon with descriptive explanations of the history of gardens and plants exist. There are about 3000 plants including some very dated, every tree is numbered and it indicates the origin and Latin name, the various oases that are found in the garden have weird names, and include: walk south, the exotic flower bed , columnar plants, the lonely, the greenhouse acclimatization, the compass, and other attractive places. The garden is included among national sites of artistic and landscape, has received awards and honors, now the headquarters of an association botany.
Absolutely to see.
