A week around the eastern Sicily from Catania to the Valley of the Temples, all organized "DIY" on internet.
Meridiana flights from Verona-Windjet, a / r € 300 per couple
Rent a car with enoleggioauto.it, the final company Advantage, a Citroen CMax (we were 4) for a week € 204.00
Booked hotel on Booking.com:
Catania hotels Misterbianco the White Mulberry (€ 65 including breakfast)
I went down from Etna, on the outskirts of Trecastagni, Organic farm Etna (€ 50 without breakfast)
At Piazza Armerina'hotel Selene (€ 65 including breakfast)
In Porto Empedocles' Villa Eos (€ 60 including breakfast)
Return to Catania hotel Catania Ognina (€ 56 including breakfast).
Two nights Saccollino the Farm (knowledge of our fellow travelers) just outside Syracuse, nestled in the countryside to get a little 'of miles of dirt road (€ 70.00 including breakfast, at the end we pay € 100.00 per day for The half board).
Surely it is just a week although there are limited to the east of the island. We have seen much, sometimes a little 'on the run, but for a first taste of the island was a great experience. Here are the places we visited, the order;
Acireale (center busy) - Giardini Naxos beautiful waterfront - Taormina (spectacular view of the Isola Bella, parking problems here too) Etna (via Lingfield until we arrived at Rifugio Sapienza, unfortunately it was a cloudy afternoon and we were able to see very little, however, a nice chilly) - Trecastagni (great restaurant Saponari) - Nicolosi (the famous "door of Etna") - Enna (to see the Duomo, the Castello di Lombardia and the Tower of Frederick) - Villa Romana del Casale near Piazza Armerina (beautiful mosaics and the restaurant the Wheel) - Caltagirone (beautiful staircase ... just past the floral display) - Piazza Armerina (a little 'disappointing) - Valley of the Temples ( particularly the scorching sun and atmosphere) - Porto Empedocles (nothing special) - Scala dei Turchi (instead unthinkable and beyond all imagination) - St. Leo (if you try to dine) - Dubrovnik (very nice, the Cathedral, the gardens at the center Historically, all cured) - Modica (majestic cathedral and chocolate) - Scicli (baroque jewel, and set the Inspector Montalbano) - Noto (amazing) - Oasis of Vendicari (a lonely sea) - Marzememi (old tuna fish and seafood restaurants ) - Cape Passero and Correnti Island - Beach Calamosca-Syracuse (Ortigia a beautiful little 'disappointing greek theater) - Catania (chaos and traffic)
