A sggestive tour of Acitrezza village in the province of Catania, Sicily

Sunday, June 15, 2005, we started from the time of Acitrezza Messina in Sicily Trizza, is a fraction of the town of Aci Castello, in the province of Catania. A fishing village of ancient and great tradition, is famous for its scenery. Coming from Messina on A18 ME-CT, exit at San Gregorio and follow signs for Acicastello - Cyclops Riviera.

Acitrezza is a place famous for the fish that you can enjoy the many clubs that arise throughout the village. We have focused on that Sunday "tradition" and we chose Trattoria "I Malavoglia.

Acitrezza with its views and its beautiful landscapes is also famous for the novel by Giovanni Verga "I Malavoglia" that the story wants to Acitrezza residents at the Casa del Nespolo. And indeed there is a house of Medlar Acitrezza, and is said to be the house that inspired the novel rod.

Today the house of the medlar is a museum that recalls, among other things, the famous film shot entirely in the seaside village in 1947 by Luchino Visconti's La Terra Trema ".

The walk to Acitrezza was therefore a nice jump in literature, history and cuisine of the sea all drenched by a spray of "Reverie."
