A trip to the lake of Resia (Reschensee) in Trentino Alto Adige, Italy

The Reschensee is located in Alta Val Venosta, towards the border with Austria. The bell tower, which emerges from the water, dates from the fourteenth century and what remains of the villages of Graun, Resia and Valentine, which were destroyed in 1950 for the construction of the huge artificial dam.
The mirror of water of two lakes natural (Reschensee and Lake Graun) was increased by 22 meters, although the population did not agree. Were destroyed in an area of 677 hectares, of which 523 agricultural use, and 160 buildings. Near the shore a bulletin board full of photos tells the sadness of that exodus and destruction of those who forever changed people's lives.
