An holiday of relaxation at Monteriggioni and Rapolano Terme in Tuscany, Italy
We arrive almost by chance in Monteriggioni, a small fortified village on the Sienese hills, often used as a stage for commercials and films. The place is fascinating, getting on the walkway above the walls you can see beautiful landscapes. Along the route of the Via Francigena, the road that connected Rome to Europe, Monteriggioni is a place almost out of time where art, history and landscape combine in a rare example of natural beauty. The fortifications were born around an existing rural settlement of Lombard origins, dates back to 1214. From Monteriggioni to Siena and back looking for a restaurant, we continue to Rapolano Spa on the border between the Val di Chiana Chianti, where we capture other views.
