This year I and my boyfriend, especially stressed after 11 months of routine, we decided for a quiet holiday, preferably in a beautiful place that is not never fails ...
E 'so that July 30 to 21:00 Sailing from the port of Civitavecchia towards Sardinia.
The journey is long enough, the ferry is to slow ... but we do expect us ke ... Goethe said that "the expectation of pleasure, pleasure is itself" ... and then ....
At 06.00 am the next day already glimpse the Sardinian coast .... but another wonderful spectacle is offered before our eyes: two dolphins swim ke a bow of our boat and turn away towards the horizon .... an experience beautiful .... the holiday starts own good!
After 3 hours of driving heavy machinery .... overflowing of stuff up and down the curve of the old SS 125 that borders the sea for the entire eastern part of .... come to CALA GONONE.
The town is beautiful, at the foot of mountains and the sea front and around the Gulf of Orosei is not great .... but it is well organized and essential services are not lacking.
It's not fashionable but still in the evening there are several restaurants and pubs just along the sea, so it fills vialone of holidaymakers after days of roasted sea, walking in search of refreshment and / or souvenirs.

BEACHES:
The Gulf of Orosei is composed of many bays, of which most are not accessible by ordinary means of transport or on foot, but only by sea. But do not worry if you do not have a boat ... because the port there are several licensed companies that organize trips along the 40Km of coastline that can be differentiated on visits style "mini-cruise" (where in one day will make several visits in the various coves and caves), or in a specific beach.
Personally, we have opted for the "mini-cruise": the start was not so quiet, in fact we found (for lack of seats in the boat) in a raft of 8 m super busy! We did not know even where to put the backpacks! But the discomfort lasted very little, as the entertainment and sightseeing are made by the master.

Among all we mention the blue and shades of blue "pools of Venus", the visual impact of the beautiful Cala Mariolu ", the small but very cozy" Cala Biriola ", the evocative coves of Cala Luna," and the famous "Cala Goloritzè" (so beautiful that UNESCU has called the World Heritage Site and therefore is inaccessible if you do not swim).

Beaches reachable "land" instead we visited Cala Osalla "and" Cala Cartoe "which are just a few kilometers from CALA GONONE .... the road to get there winds up on the mountains .... and from there over to meetings with goats "natives" of the place, you can enjoy a wonderful panorama of the Gulf of Orosei ... regarding .... the beaches are sandy and the sea gradually descends very slowly ... perhaps the only beaches qst kind of in the area!

CULTURE:
The area where we were we, as the whole of Sardinia, is very rich in archaeological remains dating to the period Nuragico. Those visited by us are:
Nuraghe Mannu: nuraghe case of well preserved, perhaps used as a place of worship (and even today many visitors have access to meditation). The peculiarity is that it is overlooking the sea, and from there the panorama on the Gulf of Orosei is wonderful!
Tomb of the Giants or Thomes: This is a real tomb as "giants" to the enormous amount of bone remains found there to his discovery. Dating back to the period nuragico always, especially the entrance: a huge stones with an opening at the bottom representing the communication between the world of the living and the dead world.
Serra Village Orrios: real people nuragici village, there are more than 70 huts, two temples to worship and even a huge "square" to the cultural and commercial events of the time .... really amazing!

FOOD:
Needless to say that Sardinia is full of wonderful flavors .... from refined fish dishes on the coasts, to the taste of the dishes simple and genuine mountain shelters. The seadas, the culurgiones, the typical Sardinian bread, the malloreddos, not to mention the cheese ... in short we have eaten very well, but we know the sea whets your appetite!

In conclusion, just a wonderful holiday, with sea, sun through visits in 'inland ... a holiday complete, which allowed us to discover Sardinia somewhat' more real than the life of the Costa Smeralda. See you soon.
