While the station we go to the Cathedral, we see the splendid city walls, visit the Church of St. Domenico, the Church of St. Paul, both of the period 1200-1300, with frescoes of the fourteenth century, although interesting painters unknown to us, then we enter the old town with its narrow streets, we arrive in Piazza Duomo, where we visit the Cathedral of S. August 29: Lake Massaciuccoli and Torre del Lago

In the morning, beach life, then in the early afternoon, while my husband went to sleep, and not surrender to capatina on the internet, I do not give up my vocation ecological, and going on the bus to Lake Massaciuccoli and Puccini's villa, where for a long time I wanted to go.
The public buses are very frequent and punctual, to Torre del Lago and Lake ne one every half hour (cost 0.90).
The route is fast, very nice because just outside the city, we are immersed in a lush and beautiful nature, flowers and plants, and, parallel to the beautiful pine forest west.
Once in Torre del Lago, the coaches take a long path, the eye sees at once, in the green expanse of the lake.
The port is ready for a boat to the starting time of the marsh, located inside a natural park.
The boat moves forward slowly in a dense network of natural canals, filled with marsh vegetation, edi canebrakes.
In making the boat, we are given information on the natural environment and life of the great musician Giacomo Piccini.
Crossing the lake, go down and we head to the house museum of Puccini, visits with tape are every hour.
Villa in the musician's personal items, both related to hunting, both in meetings with friends, writing of his correspondence, texts of musical compositions, his pianos and his tomb inside the chapel of the family.

30 August: alps Apuane

In the morning, beach life,
In the afternoon, while my husband does a tour in Viareggio, including of course the internet cafe, I took the bus to Pietrasanta and there I found the coincidence to Seravezza, a village at the base of the magnificent Alps, renowned for working with marble.
Having walked along the river and visited the churches, along the way, have risen to the Medici palace (sixteenth century), already place of vacation of the Grand Dukes of Tuscany, now a museum, in a green park near the creek ever.
Along the way, I could see the blocks of marble covered, awaiting sorting and processing.
I thought observing the blocks in search of that Michelangelo chose already seeing the shapes of his creations
I visit the exhibition "Gold of Apuane" which continues until 7 October.
I am a hundred works on the landscape and to work for centuries that allows the extraction of marble and its transport, there are also displayed works by CarrĂ , Rosai, Viani
Back to Viareggio.

August 31: Forte dei Marmi.

Morning and afternoon beach life.
In the evening, taking advantage of the fact that in the months of July and August, was established a bus service that is active throughout the night (3 euro ticket with free movement for all night), we bring in Forte dei Marmi, which is as the seaside resort "more" of the whole Versilia, many films set in this area, hundreds of motorbikes parked, of course there are also squares with the pines, the streets are lit to day, there are no shops on brand .
The bus is used mainly by young people who attend the clubs of the coast, passing in front of the famous Capannina, the perennial front row to get (good old days ...).
Ci facciamo un giro completo, poi sul tardi ritorniamo a Viareggio.
