VAL PUSTERIA

LAKE Braies
To reach the lake, take the exit for the Braies Valley, between the villages of Monguelfo Villabassa in Alta.
Having driven a few kilometers inontra is the only fork and take the road towards the lake. After passing the villages of Ferrara and San Vito, you get to the parking lot (fee in season), where there is a large hotel and restaurant. Starting from the small chapel on the banks of the lake makes a short tour around the "Pearl of the Dolomites" with the famous Seekofel which is reflected in its waters. The path on the western shore is flat and wide, while on the eastern shore is steep and narrow, consisting of stairs and boardwalks very suggestive. A short detour (about 20 min. Walk) you can get in the Hills Forest where you can taste and buy typical products. For those unwilling to walk
it is possible to rent boats.

San Candido
San Candido is located in the heart of the Natural Park of the Dolomites of Sesto (Alta Pusteria). The visit on a hot Sunday afternoon in the atmosphere of a western movie (obviously by Sergio Leone), with streets and silent. The resort is built into the path of the bicycle path of the Val Pusteria
which leads to Lienz (Lienz via Loacker see), then take advantage of its proximity to Lake Braies to verify the information on the path that we found previously on the web.

Mühlbacher Klause
Chiusa di Rio Pusteria (Mühlbacher Klause), fortress of the 15th century, closed the Val Pusteria in the west. It is located just above the confluence of Rienza nell'Isarco, near the village of Mühlbach (BZ). And 'the symbol of the town merchant Mühlbach.
Opening hours:
From June to September: open every Thursday from 09.00 to 12.00 and from 14.00 to 18.00
Guided tours (45 min): Every Thursday from June to October at 10.00, 14.00 and 16.00
we spend a Sunday afternoon so we can only see it from outside. sin. We would really like a ride in it.

PORDOI

STEP PORDOI SASS & PORDOI
We reach the Pordoipass not so much for momnumento Fausto Coppi (despite the exploits of San Candido> lienz) as the spectacular cable car to Sass Pordoi. The cable car in a single bound reaches 2950 meters above sea level in four minutes. Less than 900 meters uphill to find themselves facing a breathtaking view. Last year a dense fog on the Sass Pordoi not allowed us the desired view. retentive as this year and said the map of the sweets we were more fortunate. we go on a sunny day and beautiful to the point that there "adventure" to Rifugio Forcella
Pordoi with the intention to reach Rifugio Boe (route 627A). Unfortunately, the trail is covered with snow that does not allow us a safe walk (the path is narrow and the snow piuttostto anything but compact). Matthew is also in the throes of a "hard legs" tactic that suggests an about-face is certainly more sympathetic to an activity for our money, soccer: the launch of the crumbs of bread to the hungry birds.

ALPE di SIUSI

As the name implies, the Alpe di Siusi is an area where the pasture is practiced divided into several plots where farmers derive hay for their farms downstream. It 's the largest in Europe. Last year we had been with Uncle Alex, but our permament was limited to the restaurant
the "Mont Seuc. This year we also back on the advice of our hotel we recommend a short but very scenic walk (30 minutes) to the hut Contrin where to eat and of course with games for children. choice turns out to be very appropriate. Alpe di Siusi is presented to us as described in the website:
"Enchant wrapping for the view and the magnificence of its mountains, the gentleness of the slopes, for its sparkling flowers for the perfumes and odors." staying in the Hills is especially nice for Kaiserschmarren (DVD), and strawberries with homemade yogurt (CAT). Matthew good to skip the dining room is too busy playing with the giant mixer in the sand.

COLFOSCO

ANIMAL PARK COLFOSCO
We go on the advice of a family guest. This park, created in the shadow of a beautiful grove of trees at the entrance of the village of Colfosco (Alta Badia), are structures "interactive" in wood and also several animals. The animals in the park are farm animals (rabbits, goats, chickens, ponies). Among the park's infrastructure is a fully functioning water mill and an oven
where the bread during the summer is held one afternoon each week on "wheat bread". At the center is a small pond with a small wooden bridge that crosses it. Much appreciated by Matteo and Alessandro was the structure called "Torso." Four small red towers connected by a path-protected networks fun. During the summer the park is open every day and access is free.

MOSER & TRAUTTMANSDORFF

MOSER
We depart from Rome with the intention to visit this factory. And it fitted properly. Buston cold and dry ice for the return trip. In the room we have a small refrigerator for the intermediate step of the precious commodity. A gourmet paradise ..!

www.moser.it

TRAUTTMANSDORFF
Magda and Pino progongono us a trip to Trauttmansdorff Gardens and we gladly accept. Lush and colorful gardens, an amphitheater with natural form collection of more than 80 garden with plants from around the world. But Trauttmansdorff Gardens are also home (and especially for the beautiful Alessia) the "castle of Princess Sissi". We go there on a hot day (we discover later that it was the hottest summer since the beginning) where the search of shade and coolness was the underlying theme of the visit. Too bad because with a more reasonable temperature would have enjoyed the best of the garden which is still very nice. The Trauttmansdorff is remarkable. On our return we read on the site which was nominated in 2006 for the European Museum Award. No accident had already entered
of law in our own personal "Best Museum visited." We also have the good fortune to find a Special exhibition 2010: "Perfumes smell divine and infernal." Unusual and exciting temporary exhibitions, some interactive, introduces visitors (and especially their noses) into the magic
world of perfumes.

Things to avoid: Restaurant Schlossgarten
The Italian language is un'optional. the farmer's apple juice is a vulgar imitation of the real thing. the cup of chocolate ice cream has undergone a metamorphosis in coffee ice cream.
