Cervinia, on the roof of the Alps

A beautiful summer holiday at the foot of Mount Matterhorn in Cervinia resort.
We chose a solution that will allow for greater autonomy and a cost and we opt for the Residence Cielo Alto, located approximately 800 meters from the center of Cervinia.
A beautiful mini, a kitchen fully equipped for complete autonomy. It is not in the center of Cervinia and to go shopping, take the car but this was not really a problem.
The Residence is located a few meters from the ski lifts (obviously open in winter). The country is very nice car but for those who like us had a limited budget. We dined out only un'occsione to eat a dish of polenta with venison. For the rest dinners and lunches do-it-yourself.
Wonderful opportunities to make some superb walks to the Matterhorn is that the Plateau Rosa (the little Matterhorn, where the cable car reaches more than 3800 meters). Obviously the Plateau Rosa you can ski even in summer, but only in the early hours of the morning because after the snow becomes soft and skiing is dangerous.
Make excursions in the mountains is an experience difficult to describe but the paths we are on the Matterhorn are breathtaking. All beginners and all levels: we are not mountain and we have always found good. The only real concern was the cows! Yes, where there are cows there are also dogs and at times we were surrounded and it was fun!
The weather was pretty good but some time is to entertain. We made a pleasant trip to Valtournanche where there is a beautiful mountain lake (but in that unique opportunity to divert it rained!).
For the rest we have to do is to wish you a good holiday!
