The village of Crespi d'Adda is a real town built in the late nineteenth century, along the banks of the river Adda in Bergamo, a family of cotton manufacturers Lombard (Crespi) for employees and their families. Were made available to workers with a home vegetable garden, and all general services, in this "ideal village work" the master cater for all needs of the employees: inside and outside the factory and "cradle to grave". In the village could live only those who worked in textiles and the lives of all individuals and the whole community revolved around the factory itself, to its rhythms and its needs. The village was included in the UNESCO list in 1995 according to the criteria IV and V as exceptional example of village workers, the most complete and best preserved in southern Europe.
