Discovering the beautiful Eastern Sardinia
TRAVEL DIARY SARDINIA 2005
Travelers: Tano and Catherine
Meta: Eastern Sardinia from 21 June to 04 July 2005
Before starting research into Internet Bookings: Through the travel agent we booked a cabin in the ship (Palermo - Cagliari) and parking.
The trip to Sardinia was deliberately carried out during the low season. We have not made any reservation hotel thinking that they have no problem (the period allowed for). We are dedicated to the eastern part of the island. The places visited were the following in order: • Santa Maria Navarrese lovely village located in the Gulf of Orosei and strategic point to visit the beautiful Cala Luna and Cala Mariuolo, the beaches of Barisardo; • Orosei from which you can visit the beach Bidderosa protected (nature reserve) • Porto Cervo with the beautiful beaches of Cala del Principe and Cala Volpe • Muravera and Villasimius • Cagliari All have visited the beaches are beautiful and with a crystal clear sea of Sardinia is also renowned worldwide for its beautiful beaches. We passed the hours to do snorkeling. Sardinia does not offer a wide variety of restaurants but they are particularly good and the pasta and typical Sardinian purceddu. In the area of Santa Maria Navarrese ask the local Golgo it is worth the pain we have gone twice fascinated by landscapes that are seen to reach the place and the good purceddu. There were no difficulties in finding accommodation (we can not guarantee anything for the period of high season) and the prices were reasonable. Porto Cervo is beautiful but it needed to bring the day to prevent bleeding (a cone with a ball € 5.00). Sardinia we liked a lot and think to come back to visit the North.
