Genoa. Immediately to mind as you Fabrizio De André, Paolo Villaggio, Renzo Piano, and many others. But Genoa is the city's largest aquarium Also Italy, second in Europe after the one in Valencia (Spain), designed by architect Renzo Piano own. When You Have Children are Among the fish species of the Most Admired. Maybe Because They live in water, an element much loved by children (and others), Perhaps Because They Are colored, or Simply Because They Are fish ..! We leave for Genoa with Our Friends Simon, Claudio and little Lorenzo. For Some time we Decided to take a trip together. The opportunity presents Itself with the summer heat and a common desire to stay a little with Our brats.

The old harbor
After much talk we are finally to the aquarium. The children shiver, Matthew wants to see the penguins and sharks, fish Lorenzo. The aquarium has several proposals for input. us after having studied them all at the table (the table Thursday during lunch), we opted for PianetAcquario which includes the aquarium (obviously), the forest of hummingbirds and the biosphere. this package we have added the Children's City (ticket purchased separately). it seemed a good compromise to get a good overview. other (Galata Museo del Mare, submarine S518 Nazario Sauro, derrick), there seemed a little too large and therefore less suitable for the two brats.
Genova, fortunately, is not top of the world so you can always be assumed to return when they are older.

Things to avoid: Focacceria Treats
It is located in the Atlantis Gallery (Aquarius-Porto Antico). The buns are without the time and the staff are not that good fun. Outside tables are dirty and scruffy frequented by individuals of various kinds among them are homeless, drunks, trans. shady individuals and
and women alike. environment quite unsuitable for a lunch break.
AQUARIUS
beautiful inside, abandoned the outside, bad and obscene reception staff (especially at the desk). perhaps there
expected a bit more, maybe our expectations were higher than the final result, however the visit was very pleasant and highly recommend it.
THE FOREST OF COLIBRI
at first seems a classic hoax. a not very large with lots of greenery where you think it is impossible to find a single hummingbird around. instead we are wrong. Hummingbirds are there and we also point out for good because it does not seem at all annoyed and frightened by humans.
BIOSPHERE
is located outside of the aquarium is a glass and steel that houses inside 150 species of plants and many animal species including amphibians, reptiles (where?), insects and birds. the ride takes place very quickly, but we did several times trying to discover more new plants and flowers escaped
at first glance. among the animals that live in the Biosphere the red ibis is what we liked most.
THE CITY 'OF CHILDREN
The recreational-educational center is designed for creative kids (why not the great?) From 2 to 14 years. Processing is done on a conception of the Cité des Sciences et de l'Industrie in Paris (but it should be '?). We are in the early afternoon, it's very hot and a walk under the scorching sun is not really the icing on torata. Luckily there is a small train takes us to the entrance without sweat (and especially sweating) too. At the entrance to the "small" is accompanied Lorenzo 2-3 years in space, the "big" space Matthew 3-5. 3-5 The space is characterized by the "mother of all games" means the site ..!. It 'a real yard suitable for children. You must wear the protective yellow helmet and started to play with cranes, buckets, wheelbarrows, foam blocks, trucks and rail silos. The educational goal of the game is building a house in the beginning there are only the supporting structures. The objective of these children is very playful and above all is to carry and pull the blocks of foam from the first floor of the building. Matt spends most of his time in this section, except for a couple of changes spintanei "to the second most beautiful part: hands in the water. Other areas in which CAT & DVD have enjoyed are the ant, soap bubbles and digiwall. The experience at this center was very nice especially for the lack of crowd which has
allowed the children to have ample space available.
In the evening we have dinner at Pandemonium, one of the restaurants recommended by our hotel. after a day
aquarium and the city did not want to eat children too far away. when we arrived (without reservation) the founder and welcomed us (a lady) who made us immediately prepare a table (4 adults and 2 children) in the Room "Column" on the top floor of the room. has served us, a very helpful and friendly (the owner gave of her, unusual and elegent). we
taken trofie pesto with potatoes and green beans (very good but we eat better) and chocolate cake with hot chocolate (perfect). time to say goodbye to the owner, busy with other customers told us: "wait a minute I want to say goodbye for good." with great pleasure and surprise we found that the greeting was accompanied by a gift for the two brats: a t-shirt celebrating the historic center of Genoa. does not happen every day (actually never) to be greeted this way.

The Sori beach
ask our hotel to the beaches for families with children in which to spend a day without straying too far from the center. In addition to this must be equipped when we have nothing of the usual paraphernalia beach (over the course cotumi and towels). Finally must be along the railway line (we have the
Genova Principe railway station within walking distance).
We recommend the beach so dear
Sori. ries of bathing establishments there are several. we go to "La Rotonda" (City side Levante Beach) for the simple fact that there seems to be the most shady (but as you know the sun revolves ..!). These are the prices (the kids did not pay due ..!). Admission Adults: € 7 each. beds (two) 9 € each. umbrella (a): 5 €. 51 beautiful European sounding only for putting the soles of our flip-flops on the wooden planks of the plant. congratulations ..! said this of the
Sori sandy beach is a beach but a stone-throwing ..! But the sea is clean (morning) and is unusually hot (of course we are not in the Caribbean). Kiosk sandwiches sound good and appetizing. polite and friendly lifeguard, very surly girl at the counter. on our return we stop at focaceria Genoa. tiny room where Yuri (Sara moved to Milan, Italy) produces the typical Genoese focaccia. The white cake is amazing. very good focaccia with olives. the normal round white pizza (taken for my son Matthew.) Excellent Pandolce Genoa.
the evening we go to the restaurant The Fox and the Grapes near a stone's throw away two. children (only other?) are some Stanchini the day at the beach so best not to venture too. previous night we saw the outdoor seating and it teases us. but we have not come to terms with the fact that Saturday night, the place is very well known in Genoa, then full, and especially with the fact that we have not booked ..! . table outside no. The landlord, however, prepare us very cordially (two brats they do?) a table at the entrance of the restaurant, near the kitchen. perfect, you eat ..! we took trofie pesto with potatoes and green beans (very good), tuna steak with balsamic vinegar (good), chocolate cake with pear sauce (very good) and hot chocolate meringue pie (very good). what to say: just a dinner with all the trimmings ..!
