Preamble to the Maremma
The beginning
We start at 15.30 from Turin, arrived in Liguria was once decidedly ugly.
We arrive in Castiglione that is already night and we can not find a rest area for campers.
Then, thanks to a precise statement is found, about 3 km from the village.
Up and down through the medieval village
We approach them with the camper to the town, given the season we have no difficulty in the parking lot.
We advance in the medieval village, towards the castle.
The view extends far to the south to the north coast of the Maremma Tuscany.
Before leaving, we provided a basis of pork, bread with nuts and olives and cicioli, just to keep light.
We are moving towards the archaeological site of
ROSELLE, before lunch we advance through the remains of the Roman city.
The ROSELLE site
We proceed through the streets of what was once a beautiful city, the route starts from the walls if not gigantic command respect.
The walk along the outside until you get to the Roman theater, hence descend into the hole on the Roman road still very well preserved.
Impressive is the sight of tanks that ensure the supply of water to the inhabitants, now the whole area is fenced for safety of tourists, or perhaps the sheep that graze nearby.
We return to the camper for lunch along the Roman road into the city.
