Even this year I take part in the tour organized by the Association of snowshoes that takes us on a Sunday in October, to know a beautiful area of the Langhe (Piedmont). It is not far away from home so the trip is done comfortably in the day, but it would not hurt to spend a weekend in one of the many restored farmhouses that have been transformed into excellent farms.
The landscape of the Langhe with charming villages, beautiful old farmhouses and autumn color that take the infinite expanses of vineyards that stretch gently for the hills are really only one thing that attracts many tourists. Drawn in these areas for the excellent quality of food and wines, the real stars of this land.
We will visit these places on foot along one of the many beautiful trails called 'the paths of Barolo' slowly and gently penetrate through the vineyards, allowing us to take full advantage of these colors, these beautiful landscapes and visit 3 villages. We end the day with a delicious lunch in a farmhouse, one of many. From here the reception is excellent and high quality, well aware of the many foreign tourists who visit these areas each year. We often talk about food and wine tourism, this is an example.

We leave early by bus to our destination is the picturesque town of La Morra (Cuneo). Picturesque village situated in a very picturesque area, surrounded by vineyards of Barolo, and more. First we enter the charming village until you reach the main square where you can enjoy a wide and beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding hills. A light mist morning the landscape is full of charm and mystery.

Left us behind the old village of La Morra, a path that we walk, downhill, allows us to walk in the midst of these vineyards, when we turn around, the charming village of La Morra, located at the top of a hill seems to dominate the entire landscape that surrounds it.

Stroll to the beautiful village of Barolo, which brings in the name of the homonymous wine. Unlike La Morra and many other villages of this area, Barolo is not at the top of a hill but at the end of a valley. On the streets of the country there are many tourists, many wineries are open and allow tourists to taste the local wines.
Etymology of the name have made various assumptions, the most likely seems to be that the name derives from the Celtic 'Bas Reul' which meant, in fact: Low Place.
Village very impressive and very well maintained. Very beautiful castle built in 1250 for his work in the original core of a powerful family of the time the Falletti.
In the village there is also the museum of the corkscrew and, of course, wine.

Let the charming village of Barolo to follow our path uphill through the vineyards to reach the village of Novello, where in a farmhouse in these landscapes have lunch. In the afternoon we visit the village.
Like Morra is situated on a ridge of a hill. The village streets are quiet. It has the feel of a Sunday afternoon in the province. Silence and peace. It is said that Novello was the seat of the Lords of the Marquis Wagon and imperial fief.
There is a picturesque arched bridge that you cross to enter the center and the castle.

Walking through the picturesque streets of the town enjoying the view from time to time, infinite, which opens before us, a swirl of colors and shades. All well and good.

Alas, as always happens ... you have to take the way back and let these beautiful places.
