In the wake of De Andrè - wine under the stars in pink

The pleasure and sense of harmony that you try drinking a glass of wine while you admire the breathtaking scenery of rolling hills of Monferrato, has undoubtedly something profoundly feminine. The poetry that lurks in the aromas of the wines of these areas are women. The beauty of the crop of grapes and old barrels, but also the efficiency of modern wineries, recalls the image of the industrious women, who have always managed to combine romance, seduction, fun and practical way. The women of these places are wives, mothers, but also, often, entrepreneurs of wine. Is dedicated to their own wine in the pink event, which this year reaches its eighth edition and will be held Friday, June 11.

The event, which changes each year introducing new format than previous editions, in 2010 inspired by the music of Fabrizio De Andrè and charm of the night sky. There is boundless poetic notes that the Genoese singer-songwriter dedicated to women, and the decision to dedicate himself to this edition of Wine in pink is also a way to recreate that great spirit Liguria where the boundaries of which come from the hills of the end Monferrato. To make the soundtrack to the event will be one of the most popular songs of De Andrè, Creuza de ma, and if it comes to emotions, there certainly will stop the music: the pleasure of the palate will be ensured thanks to the chef to cook the dishes typical Ligurian dishes inspired by the appointment of De Andrè in the song: fried fish, lasagne to be cut to four sauces, pies and sour hare ... All this, of course, washed down with wines produced from the farms of Carpeneto area, run by women, but not all.

Women, you know, are also romantic and sometimes like to entrust their dreams and desires to the stars: to enchant visitors of pink wine, it will be the stars, shows and expertly explained by an association of amateur astronomers in the area: even stars, such as women, are the protagonists of the songs of De Andrè, just think of Marinella's song ("but the Sun that he saw her so beautiful, the river took it upon a star").

The event takes place in a very special location: the picturesque estate Cannon, from 1600 until 1980 ownership of the family Cassone, measured by the Piedmont Region in 1985 Today, the estate wine Cannon Experimental Center of the Piedmont Region. Its territory covers 54 hectares, of which 20 are cultivated in experimental vineyard. Since the early 80s as a result of the works of land development, the vineyards have been re-planting several varieties with different combinations of rootstocks and clones. We have designed an experimental center in wine so unique in Piemonte, where experimentation with the vine and wine are typically conducted research, such as soil management and plant protection treatments. The Centre is aimed at research and experimentation in order to promote a better understanding of the comparative characteristics and behavior of different varieties and provide results that could be adopted in production. An integrated system testing, dissemination and technical upgrade for the sector, with emphasis on conservation and development of viticultural environments.

The main building in the courtyard where the event takes place, and which includes a church, still consecrated, is an architectural gem from the great historical and artistic value. Particularly well preserved are the decorations, wood and stucco decorations.
