San Gimignano and its fantastic towers. Trip to Tuscany, Italy
Medieval village in the province of Siena, Unesco.
We come unexpectedly almost opposite the hotel San Michele (on Booking.com booked at 80 € per night including breakfast), run by two sisters very nice, excellent breakfast. We take possession of the room, leaving the car parked and away, walk towards the town with many towers. Passing through the gate turn length and breadth of the village, surrounded by the fourteenth century walls, here and there seeing the 14 remaining towers of the 72 original. There are two museums dedicated to torture, rather gruesome thing. We climb the Torre Grossa, and the view over the roofs of this village towers and two major roads that intersect at the center of town, a gateway to another. We visit the Cathedral, and enjoy a gelato ice cream in the almost world champion ice cream, really good. We have dinner in a pizzeria in the center to enjoy the colors that darkness gives to these ancient walls.
