The only region of Italy which had not yet set foot was Sicily. Departure by car from Florence to Civitavecchia and boarding on GNV to Palermo. In the morning, arriving by sea, Palermo we see literally at the foot of great mountain ranges. Before ignorant wonder at two: the mountains in Sicily. But mountains. Mountains that spill violently into the sea. Rugged mountains and cut to accept. Visited Palermo and Monreale, we go inward to reach Alcamo. Steps of the mountain and fresh air, then plunges down to the Gulf of Castellammare del Golfo. Very good hotel "Al Madarig". The Arabic name of the country takes us back to last month and wants to return to Tunisia. The prices are twice as Tunisia, but the performances are wonderful. The sea has nothing to envy to the South Seas waters and crystal depths from green to blue and then down through the visit of Tonnara Scopello, San Vito lo Capo, Bay Tower Guidaloca of Egadi. Levanzo is wonderful. Favignana well! And what about the beautiful Saline in Trapani with its windmills and the temples of Selinunte and Segesta! Not to mention the excellent Sicilian cuisine with its specialties that we know by name, but never tasted. Caponate to meet, pasta with sardines. Couscous of the fish, cassata, fish and fresh mint, exceptional wines and affordable for us that we live in a city, very beautiful, but overloaded. And what about the people: for us a little 'noisy, with no helmet in motorcycle, moped all (I say all) smarmittati that connect you to Florence in jail, traffic row via smooth, although many of these rules vengole adapted to the conveniences of the moment. All but available, much more friendly and welcoming than the center-north.
