Treviso - Certaldo

We start from Treviso at early morning to Certaldo, in a farmhouse found on the Internet. The trip runs smoothly and in the early afternoon we arrive At The Three Star agriturism (www.letrestelle.com). We are welcomed by Mrs. Mary, a typical Tuscan with a nice regional accent; We set down in our rooms for a short rest.
In the afternoon we visit Certaldo Alta, a tiny medieval centre, famous for having given birth to Boccaccio. We decide to have a snack in a small grocery store, with bread and Tuscan salami.
In the evening we return at agriturism, where we eat in company of the last friends arrived. We taste a delicious dish of noodles with duck sauce and good home-made sweet. The evening reaches its climax when the restaurant owner offers us an excellent glass of Ciliegiolo, a strong red wine with an intense scent of cherry.
We just have to go to sleep :-)

Siena and Monteriggioni

Alarm at good morning and a large breakfast based on homemade cakes, coffee, tea and everything else; immediately after we head to Siena where Alessio practices as guide, given its past years here as private on military service.
We go now in Piazza del Campo (that as usual is already very busy) up on the Mangia Tower and after a lot of steps admire a beautiful landscape.
Immediately after we visit the cathedral, which is impossible to make a decent picture of without a wide angle :-(
After a while wandering the city, we get into the car heading to Monteriggioni, a beautiful and tiny medieval fortress perched on a hill.
We spent the evening the same as the previous, eating and drinking in joy :-)

S. Gimignano

S. Gimigniano
Morning spent in San Gimignano, a famous medieval centre. We visit the Palace and the Tower of Podestà, the Collegiate, and the Museum of torture.
After buying some typical Tuscan goods, we return to agriturism to retrieve luggage and come back home :-(
