How to get the most favorable one of the bridges of this year with a nice trip?
"Torna Surriento" consisted G. Battista De Curtis, and we here we are on the road to go there the first time, almost by chance, at the suggestion of a friend that finally at the last moment decided not to participate!
But do not ever immaginerà what has been lost these beautiful spring days in Sorrento and surroundings.

 

Finally... Let's go!!!

After a day's work we have already screened all 'beginning of our vacation: starting on time at 22 from Central Station in Milan, train berth, so we use the night to travel.
Good idea because the return trip we spent just more!

Arrival in Sorrento, Circumvesuviana and Pompei tour

21/04/06 Transportation
Arriving in Naples, at 8.30 am or so, here from the central station you access immediately to Circumvesuviana, a train line connecting the surface of the coast. Trains run every 10 minutes and I think this line is very convenient. (price Napoli - Sorrento about 3 euros). The area is well served by public transport so that we do not have the car we own well and moved smoothly.
Go by ferry is a bit 'more expensive but far more scenic and fun, and very "holiday", there are also many buses, we have had some problems when we went to Positano in to return were overflowing and we lost the race because some unable to rise.

After this little bracket on the means of transportation we take the Circumvesuviana where wrong direction now, we see about half-way through because instead of seeing the sea we saw the mountains.
No problem, we found a lot of people who understood the fly our problem and we have explained how to get back on the right line.
Tip: pay attention to Sorrento because any line is fine but then we need to change!

Then we arrive in Sorrento and now we find our hotel, called Hotel Nice, is very close to the station and also overlooks the Piazza Lauro in Sorrento and the heart.
Our family room is really big and spacious and we have found really good!

After a little tour to Sorrento we decide to spend the afternoon with the excavations of Pompeii.
Take the Circumvesuviana and arrive in 15 minutes to Pompei Scavi. Ticket for access to the city 10. The excavations of Pompeii are incredibly fascinating, I already have seen several archaeological sites and ruins, but never a whole city. The magnitude and extent are the things that struck me more, because you see all the different places and environments of an entire city, starting from the forum, the theater at the spa to get all'anfiteatro and several villas. We walked the whole afternoon away in losing a lot of photographs.

CAPRI

Today, wildlife tour, take the ferry to Capri again at 9.45 am and landed on the island just as before we decide what to go and see the Blue Grotto.
We had already put in that would be expensive (about 16 euro), but we decide to see this beautiful cave. In the end we left a little 'disappointed, not because of the cave which has some really beautiful colors as for the organization to get there.
It in fact comes with a boat motor out of the cave and is expected to climb in small groups on the boats to enter the cave. The problem is that you are at sea for half an hour to breathe diesel boat motor sway dramatically. In summary red sticker for those who suffer from seasickness and even those who do not know how to suffer (better then reach the vicinity of the cave on foot). Then when it finally goes up on the rowing boat ride all the 'inside of the cave does not last even two minutes.
Let us return to the island of Capri that turn feet, let the two viewpoints that of Augustus gardens and in front of stacks Tragara.
We the rich and famous streets full of shops to the square where we take the bus to Anacapri. Here we decide to visit the Church of St. Michael is famous for the beautiful tiled floor represents heaven and the expulsion of Adam and Eve. Merita davvero.
Met the day we return to Sorrento where we are in for a tasty dinner made of fresh fish.
Ah, remember to try the hazelnut coffee!

The very typical Naples and ... Positano at dusk

23/04/06 Naples - Positano
The goal of today and the town we decide to achieve, as consigliatoci by our friend, by ferry to reach the Gulf.
Sin a little time 'that is not clouded allows us to clearly see the view.
It 'one of the famous Sunday walk so we are preparing us to walk in a Naples incasinata not as we had described.
Visit Castel dell'Ovo, Piazza del Plebiscito with the church, admire the Royal Palace and then can not miss the photo in front of the great male Angevin.
As you can not go from S. Gennaro? And here we are in search of the cathedral, in Gothic style, completely different from the rest of the city, come to admire the famous chapel.
Left the cathedral we are in one of the typical streets of Naples (via the Courts and surrounding area) and we are plunged into total chaos of a full noon of life. We are a little 'disorientation but here we are in the real Naples, just to recover from fatigue enter into a pizzeria where the pizza with buffalo mozzarella and cherry tomatoes us. A true goodness that we can only dream of.
We decide to drop the city as chaotic call incasintatama very typical that certainly deserves a more thorough visit in the future to go to Positano, a characteristic town of the Amalfi coast from Viette very beautiful, with the characteristic shops of sandals made to measure all the houses perched in down to the beach.

Caserta and his Royal Palace

Today Caserta course, some change train, and arrive at the great palace. Perfect timing, just enter a sudden a guided tour of the apartments and the most important rooms.
The guide is really good not only in historical explanation of the facts but in us to grasp details and little secrets that not only would never have noticed.
After the visit we expect the gardens, is a fantastic day, the sun makes the water of the fountains down the hill to the villa.
Reckless resolve to reach the start point of the fountains, so after four kilometers on foot (this is the length of the magnificent fountains) with strappetto last we reach the final summit. Before us a panorama, the Vesuvius and the palace that seem far away with a fountain view from a look that is almost frightening.
Back to Sorrento satisfied with our Circumvesuviana, which at sunset for a spectacular day offers beautiful landscapes. Who will forget the beautiful view of Seiano?

Last day... sigh! Lemons, inlays and cakes!

Last day ... .. Sigh!
Spend the last hours in Sorrento immersed in shopping, for bringing to our homes something of this earth, not only limoncello and lemon Kg (but we like to be transported by train, but how many we have sold us ?!?!?! Poor !) and cakes but also ... for lovers of wood as I could not miss a visit to a typical shop of inlayers.
20.30 Central Station in Milan, we arrived late and we missed the connecting train, tomorrow we go back to work, we are waiting for the train, it rains and gets cold!
"Torna a Surriento" sang G. Battista De Curtis .... If it were up to us soon !!!!!
