Sorrento Peninsula. Campania, Italy
HISTORY
The name is inspired and reflected the cult of the patron saint of the country: Sant'Agnello, monaco Benedictine. The Saint is much revered by the inhabitants of the country and is dedicated to him a party December 14. The tradition tells that the mother del Santo, unable to have children often prayed with faith that Santa Maria would give the world a child. One day, finally had the revelation: would have given birth to a child, lamb indeed, that was very dear to God
The Parish of Sts Prisco and Agnello, having been built with the help of the faithful, have the privilege today to elect directly the parish priest and to have its own administration.
The City of Sant'Agnello is situated between Piano di Sorrento and Sorrento. Its territory overlooking the Gulfs of Naples and Salerno. Throughout the territory of the municipality are substantial deposits tufacea due to the ancient eruptions of Somma-Vesuvius, which damage the coast, overlooking the sea, the color "burnt yellow."
The origins of the town of Sant'Agnello are common to those of the Sorrento Peninsula and dates back to ancient times. The first people who came to the Peninsula where you have clear evidence was that of Osci, popolo dell'Italia South which later joined the Phoenicians. Nell'89 A.C. Sorrento became a Roman municipality. The splendid "Surrentum" became a resort for wealthy Romans: it is said that Caesar Augustus and Nero possessed a villa, while Tiberius there were often from nearby Capri.

The Hotel consists of a modern structure (input) and an old building renovated nineteenth century (in the back). We have a renovated room in the building which quite frankly does not deserve four stars (a small room and bathroom a bit old). Conversely, the hotel has a delightful swimming pool surrounded by a typical Sorrento citrus grove, enriched with exotic plants and flowers of the Mediterranean maquis. It is 1.500 meters from the center of Sorrento and 300 meters from the beach "La Marinella". Buffet breakfast plentiful and good. Half board: the advise as the dishes are varied and of excellent quality, good selection of wines (paper)

La Marinella Cot € 7,00 (each) Included in the price umbrella NOTE: I am the last of the beach. We have proposed 4 places by the sea at 20 € (discount ricco mi ci figs). The first three places were only in second / third row at a fixed price of € 7. Business is business! Clear sea and clean and not disappoint the expectations.
Vico Equense
Ristorante & Pizzeria by Gigino Pizza a metro The University of Pizza Pizza: the words spoken by universities alone Desserts: exceptional Profiterol and Cassata Parking (CAUTION): The pizzeria has a parking fee (€ 2), but no sign to indicate the amount that is asked so sneaky exit (which is quite unfair and not very elegant).
