The city of Florence, a miracle of the italian arts!

Florence needs no presentation, is a city of art par excellence.
We stopped two days at the Hotel Columbus, chosen on booking.com but then booked by phone, € 70 per night for a double room with excellent breakfast. It is approximately 30 minutes walk from the historic center, on the Lungarno, convenient for a relaxing stroll. Also near the bus stop.
We always went to eat then to the 'tavern de'Peccatori ", in Piazza Santa Florence, near the courthouse and nearby Piazza della Signoria, excellent and fast service, reasonable prices, fabulous local dishes.
In two days of sunshine and warm despite the season we have seen, calmly and including the interior: the church of Santa Croce (the picturesque Austrian stalls in the square opposite, the scent of sausage and strudel), the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore , Giotto's Bell Tower (400 steps but it's worth), the church of Santa Maria Novella, the church of San Lorenzo, Ponte Vecchio (bustling), Palazzo Pitti (with all its exhibits), the Boboli Gardens ( a beautiful green space behind the Pitti Palace), near the garden Bardini, Palazzo Vecchio (we are searched at the entrance .... and then leave the backpacks in the cloakroom!) and the church of San Miniato al Monte (here we come early morning in the church below the friars were singing in Latin music that created a mystical atmosphere).
What we would not have entered the Dome of Brunelleschi and the Baptistery was closed. The Uffizi Gallery we discarded because the time was a tyrant.
The only drawback, Florence deserves a little 'cleaning in less traffic and more .... And the price of inputs is no joke, but in this whole world is country.
