Since my Spanish girlfriend, I could carry it for the umpteenth time in Italy, without stopping for a few days in the most beautiful cities in the world ???... for more, I just see 2 stone already and are happy ...
For the plane from Bacelona, problems do not exist. I do not know how many airlines, scheduled or low cost, covering this traietto ..
.. and so we arrive at Fiumicino Airport uncomfortable in a hot summer day at the end of July, is housed in one of the many hotels in the area of Rome, an area that in addition to the wonderful historical finds, also offers a glimpse of traditional life that flows around to a railway station in central Australia .. .. .. and Rome then you do a little ...
Without losing a moment we are launching today to the churches, monuments and "stones" of all kinds.
We begin with the nearby church of Santa Maria Maggiore, which offers in addition to its artistic wonders a little gray in one of the hottest days of the year. Just get a couple of maps of the city to descend via the bellla cavour and reach the Imperial Forums, and after the usual picture-postcard landscape that offers us the address to the Colosseum. There seems little to say the Italians Coliseum, since we almost form part of our everyday life. But I see the eyes of Yoli, who alone was born in Spain, to realize what we can try to see so much wonder, aprezzata always only in books or on tv ... and to me does the same effect ... but I am a special case ...
The girl at the ticket office to get all 'Anfiteatro Flavio (I like to call it so!) Reminds me that I am in Rome. I can "negotiate" the price of the ticket and enter as a student I am Yoli is ... let's leave the North of Italy, but these things do not happen even in spain! but I like!
From the Coliseum (which seems to leave Tokyo and Rome!) Climb and enter the Fori Imperiali and begin to take about 40 photos to capture every angle of a wonder tale. I sit where Caesar was cremated and closing his eyes again I try to hear the sound of wood burning in his body and cries of the people present. After more than 2000 years this event is still able to move ...
Then go up where the mayor has his office and inviaditissimo, turning the corner, we are on the Capitol. We see once again that walking into a kind of open-air museum can 'happen only in a few other cities besides Rome and find a similar beauty is perhaps impossible.
After I had a dozen pictures with the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius as if it were my cousin, we descend giunin Piazza Venezia where Yoli is in love with Victorian (or typewriter, wedding cake, etc. ...). This time it's up to you for the photos ...
But the tour takes up and go to Via del Teatro di Marcello where we find the namesake building, the temple of fortune manly and the church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin with his famous mouth of truth. From there onwards we reach the Circus Maximus, where we finally sit down and rest. Meritatamnete.
After some rest at night we do not have the strength to do anything but to eat a nice carbonara and mitici bucatini all'amatriciana. This means that in Spain where the dream!
The following day, after having filled bellies and pockets Buffet's going to Piazza dei Cinquecento and the ancient Terme, down Via Barberini and delTritone where we soon realize that the tourist trap shops and not only have Price unthinkable. If the water pen with the pope that "swim" will cost at least EUR 3 ...
Thank goodness that for now the works of art out of which Rome has still not free. And so we pass first to see the Fontana di Trevi (the preferred Yoli monuments along the "panettone" in Piazza Venezia where ...), in addition to the usual photos, we run the classical coins ..
Moving on in front of the Column of Trajan and omitting Montecitorio specifically (and not for the splendid palace, but for fear of seeing some of the "employees" of the place ...) we address to pay tribute, at least I, the mausoleum of Augustus. The biggest of all. Then from there go up to Piazza di Spagna with its famous staircase. We remain esterefatto when I see that the church of Trinità dei Monti and restoration, and to cover it have a nice sheet with the advertisement of a car. One thing is absolutely horrible. What courage ...
Proseguimo then for the wonderful Piazza del Popolo, with its baroque churches, its Egyptian obelisk and the stairs leading to a beautiful terrace overlooking the Pincio. So go through and doing some shopping among the beautiful shops of the center (of course avoiding the luxury boutiques and shops for foreign tourists trap ..) to reach the beautiful Piazza Navona, which are taken once a raptus Photo ...
In the evening we decide to dine in the beautiful and vivid piazzetta de Campo de 'Fiori. Young and full of tourists, go eat a pizza and an ice cream nutella is not something to lose ... and do not forget a romantic stroll along the Tiber ... 'sti italiani!
The same evening we reach our inseparable companions travel and friends Benny and Andrew. They, too, as always from Barcelona ...
On Saturday morning, after explaining to our friends as a nutritious breakfast at the expense of riperquotersi can positively on the budget day, we decide to spend all day at
Vatican, already knowing that it will not be enough ...
... The first surprise comes when, after visiting the square of the basilica of St. Peter, of course, decide to enter to visit the Catholic church of the largest planets. Well yes, we do not move because we have the pantalncini shorts. That much lack of respect for God! And well we thought we had to wear long pants, scarf and hat in a cool day at the end of July in Rome!
We buy for 5 euros a piece of cardboard in the shape of trousers in a newspaper near them, and so, after this theft, we can get ...
Well, St. Peter has not bsogno many presentations or reports. Just enter and to remain fully open mouth. The Pietà by Michelangelo and Bernini's canopy are only 2 among the countless wonders of art within this huge basilica. After a delightful trip to the library which are found all along the route that leads reach the Vatican Museum, where, even if a fast and leaves out a lot of things, it requires at least half a day to give a quick look This museum is wonderful ...
Once again the evening go to Campo de 'Fiori and then we go to some fun in Trastevere, another area of the capital known for its nightlife ...
On Sunday we visit what still remains of "important and unmissable" in Rome. San Giovanni in Laterano, the ancient papal seat, the beautiful church of San Clemente, missed the Pantheon, the Domus Aurea, Castel S. Angelo and another thousand palaces, buildings and squares, passing perhaps innoservati among other works of art scattered the city, but that would be safely in the main attrezioni smaller places ...
Unfortunately it also on Monday ', and you must return. It was not the first time in Rome, but the first time after having had the pssibilità to visit many other places ... and the city is confirmed once again unique. Its people, its culture, its history and wonders ... well, Rome is and always will remain the eternal city.
