The fashion of the Venice Carnival, Italy
I saw Venice in all seasons, but never to Carnival, so we decided it was time to throw in the ditch. We stayed in a hostel in Murano and the choice proved to be true bull's eye for the price (which in this period in Venice is exorbitant), which for the location. Just off the train we went to take possession of the rooms and then immediately with the ferry in Piazza San Marco. The day we spent photographing masks and roam the streets clogged with "foot traffic". Sunday morning is spent in the streets of Murano, in and out all the shops and see the kids doing the work of glass blowing. Back in Venice, lunch, and then again for a ride in Piazza San Marco before taking the ferry to the station. Really fun weekend. Hilary
