unday January 21 was held in the old town of MONTALTO DI CASTRO (VT), the blessing of the animals. E 'was an opportunity to taste some local products offered by the organizers: bread and sausage, cheese with honey, wine ...... . Day organized by riding centers in the area. Some of the beautiful tourist town.
Small squares, narrow streets topped by arches and walls, the urban center of historic charm with a special highlight the medieval origins.

The village is dominated by the Castello Guglielmi, whose oldest is the imposing square tower. Probably built in the fifteenth century by the Orsini, as the plaque placed on the tower, the castle has undergone many renovations later.
At the end of the eighteenth century was a raised floor and in the last century were added to the loggia and the battlements now.
Going away Vulci you reach a door cut in the northern section of the wall, from there you enter the square Felice Guglielmi, which raises the neoclassical facade of Santa Croce. The interior has a single nave and above the altar, guarded by a glass display case, there is a valuable painting, representing "The Madonna della Vittoria".

Going away Soldatelli we arrive at the beautiful facade of the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta. The building shown above the portal of travertine the arms of Pope Pius VI Braschi who promoted the complete renovation in 1783. Inside, a single nave, is decorated with interesting paintings of the eighteenth century. In a display case on the right, are preserved the relics of Quirino and Candido, patron saints of Montalto. Piazza Giacomo Matteotti is the Palazzo del Comune. The structure, built originally as a Franciscan monastery, was later transformed into a fortress by the Farnese and incorporated into the walls.

Outside the old town, near the Via Aurelia, meet on the eighteenth of the Three Fountains Cannelle and Mascherone, both with long inscriptions surmounted by coat of arms of the municipality. Along the road to Marina di Montalto you can see on the left, the church of San Sisto, built by the Augustinian friars in the thirteenth century perhaps, and then transformed into lazaret first and then to hospital.
Along the Via Aurelia, after passing the village of Pescia Romana, one arrives at the Palace of Chiarone, the former papal customs. With about 90 rooms, with much of the papal apartment, stables and a prison, it is now, unfortunately, completely abandoned. Near the town you can admire the eighteenth of Archi Pontecchio. Finally, near the Castle of the Badia (Vulci) is preserved dell'Osteria Casale, valuable example of colonial architecture dating from the era of reform.
