Mount Maggiorasca is the highest peak in the Ligurian Apennines. While Liguria is not known to most people for the beauty of its mountains I must say that when we knew we had to think again because this valley is truly spectacular. The climb to Mount Maggiorasca was very busy especially in the last stretch. We started from the big car park there at the end of Boxing Day on a fine summer day in the first part of our trek we were in the company of many families who were directed to the meadows of the onion to the picnic Sunday we too we are far refreshed and reinvigorated on this beautiful lawn before facing the last section that would allow us to reach the summit 1804 meters. On top is a statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which dominates the entire valley.
