With a 2-week stay in Chia we were able to tour the surrounding areas from Cagliari to Carbonia, with a stake in Villasimius.
Beaches near Chia is one of the most exciting and the beach that morning was more beautiful than the sight yesterday.
All the beaches with shallow water, white and blue and very clear, well worth a visit, but among those who have more enthusiasm to remember: On Giudeu, Cala Cipolla, Tuaredda, Is Arenas Biancas (with dunes as high as 20 meters from which to launch with great leaps) and Porto Pino but strongly recommend to those who go in August (there is no room even to walk). In the area of Villasimius we made a detour to the beach camp Longu and I must say that even here the dream is assured.
The whole area of Chia and the coast of the South has maintained its beauty still "au naturel" with large protected areas and tourism, mostly locals, who love and respect their land.
This part of Sardinia still is not "just beaches, but there is something that you expect and deserve a visit and is the province of Carbonia-Iglesias that has a hinterland and a coastline dotted with mining and former mining sites, seen today, which offer a different point of view but just as interesting as the life of this island.
We visited the mine-museum "of coal (the largest mine Serbariu) that includes the museum of coal, and mine Monteponi near Iglesias. In both there is a guided tour of the pits, helmets and lights and you can, even if only remotely imagine what life was like the many miners who worked there. The whole coast from Nebida to Masua a goalkeeper Flavio, is a succession of "archaeological finds of mine" which now form a Tuttuno with nature to create unique and breathtaking views.
In short, this is Sardinia that has thrilled!
