The Trauttmansdorff Castle gardens. The entire world's flora in one day! Merano, Trentino Alto Adige

The green and the flowers of the world in one day? It may seem incredible, but in Italy you can admire the world of our vegetable gardens Trauttmansdorff visiting Earth in one day, from morning to late afternoon, a thing to be a pearl in the Alto Adige, Merano.
This short trip I'll illustrate with 100 photos chosen from those taken in spring, many for the time we met was not ideal for capturing the fantastic colors of full bloom.
We did a weekend, 12 to 13 May 2007, also to return to Merano, South Tyrol one of my favorite cities to its historic center with the pleasant street of Portsmouth and the atmosphere a bit 'retro you can still take a stroll along the river Passer, where the buildings we reproduce what was the lounge of Merano a time, leaving us easily imagine the daily life of that time, the talk in front of a strudel or a hot chocolate cheered by the music of Strauss or the quiet walk between the beds full of flowers in the gardens that are always along the Passer.
The green, flowers, gardens in Meran there, indeed, are a component to which Merano, and not only they would never give up and for this reason have innate dedication to the green, and especially so entrenched that they have I only made a symbol in Italy, Gardens Trauttmansdorff on the outskirts of Merano, Via S. Valentino 51a, which can be reached on foot from the starting gate of the old town and along the first stretch of Via Cavour and then turn right into Via Winkel and right again on Via Dante, until you reach Via San Valentino, with a nice view of the castle from which access to this wonderful park.
For those who can not bring himself to do it on foot, because uphill leg, there is a convenient service with buses arriving at this wonder of Merano.
The peculiarity of this huge garden is that within its vast space, 12 acres where the happy position has been exploited natural amphitheater of a hilly area, were recreated habitats of plants from around the world, seen through a rollercoaster of trails that lead visitors into direct contact with all the plant species present and make us do a perfect travel around the world, experiencing over 80 botanical environments in four major areas to give visitors the feeling of being truly because the continents represented by a vegetation consisting of approximately 5,800 species and varieties with a total of 700,000 trees!
It seems almost incredible, but within the Trauttmansdorff Gardens you can stroll through the woods in the world, from North America to Asia, then move to the Gardens of the sun between the Mediterranean landscapes, then the African cactus, water gardens and terraced with a small rice fields, Japanese garden, the garden of the senses, the stairs of water, with colorful parrots aviary, pond with water lilies, and then, and then, and again, a walk of 7 km, with paths that lead us in green color and perfumes from around the world.
Obviously can not miss the landscapes of South Tyrol with their traditional views, where we also find a nice pergola of vines, with the bench where, if you're tired, you can sit to enjoy a sip of fine wines and Alto Adige able to produce .
It takes all day and, given the miles of trails and the vast amount of visible species, is well into the morning, advising and sturdy shoes to tackle with confidence the many ups and downs.
A visit to the museum housed in the tourism Trauttmansdorff Castle is a must because the travel is very nicely symbolized by the many blue bags piled up at its entrance.
For those who want to refresh, there are bar and restaurant where, to use it, it should move in time as in non-winter weekend is always filled with hungry visitors.
And the last pennies? just before the exit there is a nice shop with the inevitable souvenirs.
