We stayed two days in Trafoi at the Hotel Interski, just close to the family Thoeni, the great ski champion of the '70s. Bed and breakfast € 32 per person, with the option of discounted dinner at 13 € at the nearby Hotel Fir.
Convenient location to reach the Stelvio, Val Solda, amid the Stelvio National Park and the adjacent visitor center "Naturatrafoi" with an exhibition on the theme of "Life on the Border", speaking of the geological aspects of the massive Ortles and survival of plants and animals to the extreme conditions climatche high mountain.
From Trafoi can be reached on foot or by car (a street of two kilometers) an ancient sacred shrine of the Three Fountains at 1607 m altitude.
The church was built in 1229 and restored between 1701 and 1702, close to three sources that seem to enjoy the healing properties. The image of Our Lady which is usually kept in the church every year during the winter is carried in solemn procession Trafoi, where up to Pentecost is exposed in the church.
Ideal place for picnic.
