We decided at the last minute to go and see the palace and the park of Venaria Reale, prov. Turin. It was Saturday and was in the bridge feast of Saints, the queue for the ticket was more 'than an hour ..... the directions to the place were not very visible, total organization of the thing .... a little! The park is very large trees, a stream long and narrow and very thin ..... no statue, no fountain, no short bush very few embellishments.
The day was sunny and at least we enjoyed the colors of nature in autumn. There is a large tank near the palace, with water and trees near them that had an orange-red and were reflected in the water ... very impressive.
Set up a large bar with an outdoor area outside, opposite the Palais Royal gardens are more 'elaborate and beautiful, hedges, a fountain, some works on display in nature, vases and flowers, the meadows were green and the park as a whole is large in Near the palace is very beautiful and elsewhere is very thin. A small train takes guests to walk around the park, next to the building there is a plantation of small trees surrounded by a bare soil full of shells of nuts ..... some special things attract the attention of tourists, benches scattered here and there, to visit the park with convenient it takes 1.5 hours if not more '.
The building however is always full of people road, guided tours and inside there is an exhibition of paintings and sculptures, drawings of various Italian and foreign castles, palaces and castles in the reconstructions of wood, all in an atmosphere of grandeur. The furniture is non-existent and there are signs of real life exposed. A small exhibition of nineteenth-century era clothes made of paper mache is very pretty and colorful. You can not take pictures ..... as always!
Finally you can 'visit a church, a chapel, spacious and recently renovated, very nice and bright.
The park entrance is distant from the entry to the palace and you first visit the park, you can 'access to the palace from the secondary entrance in the back, from the park. During this period, many complaints were raised about venaria episodes have occurred because of disorganization and lack of logistics, complaints from tourists on queues and lack of information and alerts. It is indeed seen everything 'but if you can make the ticket (12 euros per head + park building without help) then the visit is nice, it engages a whole afternoon and if you're lucky enough to find a beautiful sunny day is beautiful take photographs.
I have not visited the park's herd that is another thing but still connected to venaria real, I hope to do in the spring.
Ah, pay parking !!!!!
But in the end it was worth it!
The exhibition of paintings inside the building was nice, hunting scenes, and portraits of historical figures amorous. Busts and sculpted faces, large rooms and wooden floor gave a feeling of luxury. The last room very long before entering the chapel is very beautiful, working from ceiling to floor chess, well lighted by many and large windows on either side is a beautiful room, well .... some photos I've made but .... I almost!
The visit inside is poorly marked and a bit 'confused, there are audio guides or real guided tour groups but at a higher price.
Following the tour there is a library and a kind of shop room with some books, postcards, objects and pretty but the prices are a bit 'exaggerated.
The bar of the complex flows in the meadow adjacent to the park, no guided tour in the park, the path is free and a little 'confused ..... front of the building there is a kind of ruined ancient fountain, very charming, filled with some material similar to glass that glistens in the sun, excellent effect.
The Way of the country which results in the square before the palace entrance and is full of local shops, there is the ticket. Parking is in the back of the building that have not yet completed to renovate the whole building is very great and a good part has already 'been restored, much is still work to do.
To achieve venaria you must take the ring road towards Milan, Turin and exit or after Queen Margherita c.so or exit the stadium. the website of the Palace of venaria is:
www.lavenaria.it
You can not do the tickets online because of an error ..... better call and request information. The controls are fairly strict and outside the building .... If you put a foot wrong. ... I immediately resume.
