Montefiascone is the homeland of wine EST EST EST. Located at an hour's drive from Rome, near Viterbo.
The town is perched on a hill which offers a superb panorama of Lake Bolsena.
We recommend you stay at the Hotel Urban V (www.hotelurbano-v.it). Besides being very central, the rooms have magnificent. The price of a double, including breakfast is 70 € but there are some wonderful offerings for the romantic getaway for about 150 € per person.
Unfortunately, since the central parking can be a problem but is chargeable.
To eat, we recommend the restaurant "La Cavalla" in the way of Band 25 (http://www.ristorantelacavalla.it/). Excellent local cuisine with affordable prices (about 30 € per person, wine included). For football fans, it also offers the matches on Sky.
Even Viterbo (about 30 km south) is worth a visit if not for the magnificent square and its historic center but especially for the church of Santa Rosa, which is housed the relic of the patron saint of the city.
If you're ever in Viterbo on Sunday you will find that's not really easy to eat. Turn in the narrow streets and discover some pretty good local trattorias.
What to say? If you live in Ontario or a trip to Tuscany in Lower Montefiascone is to be done.
