Cusio - Piani dell'Avaro:
Cusio, located at 1050 meters. sea level, is a typical village of Bergamo Alps. Lying dull slopes of Mount Miser, belongs to the valleys of Bergamo Pizzo dei Tre Signori, an area of great environmental value within the Park Orobie Bergamo.
Plans for the failure, situated at 1700 meters. altitude and easy to put short drive or walk, are a kind of playground in both summer and winter: skiing, bobsleigh, sledge, walks, jogging ... all in close contact with nature! A sort of Paradine on earth!
Santa Brigida:
The church is St. Brigid was probably built before Thousand by a community of Benedictine monks who dedicated it to the abbess Brigid, the Irish mistress, founder of monasteries and educational communities. These came from the Benedictine monks Valsassina, like most of the inhabitants of the Valley Averara. The architectural evolution of the building has gone through various phases, including expansion in the second half of the fifteenth century. The original building remain important traces in the architectural forms and paintings of the current one, whose appearance is merged trqasformazione radical secons occurred in mid-fifteenth century. The church has a nave, divided into five bays, a keen sense, supported by stone pillars. The gabled roof is supported by wooden beams whose vault is decorated with polychrome stucco from eighteenth century. The bell tower, a pyramid-shaped spire, has a partially incorporated into the church and has a small belfry with four openings. Outside a large covered porch opens from the sloping roof of the church and supported by three pillars, and almost entirely decorated with frescoes. The frescoes that decorate the porch and going back to the first half of this century, they would belong to the original church, as stated in their arrangement. They in fact cover the lower half of the wall and the upper line of boxes seems to match the existing roof line.
And 'certain however that the original church of Santa Brigida, which is the Shrine of Our Current dates back to before the '200 and was the only existing Averara Valley. In '400 underwent a first restoration of medieval buildings and was consecrated by St. Charles in 1566.
For its natural beauty and value of artistic references Santa Brigida was among the first centers in the valley to receive the impulse from the summer resort favored by an increasingly diverse range of services and recreational opportunities and cultural entertainment.
