A beautiful country with a very green capital, VILNIUS, protected by UNESCO for its historical center of the Baroque style, its many churches and where I had the fortune to meet the folk festivals BALTIC hosting groups from all over Europe, including from our country . Then visit Trakai and its castle on the lake in a natural environment of great impact and then I head in Klaipeda, a port on the west coast from which I take the ferry that brings me to the fabulous short peninsula of Courland-Neringa, a national park 100 km long half of which belongs to Lithuania and the Russian district of Kaliningrad to meridiionale. The place is beautiful with large pine trees, a sandy beach and dunes up to 60 meters for erosion due to wind. NIDA is the main town a few miles from the Russian border and is a very nice and relaxing with wooden houses, walks to the sea and the lagoon, with the house which was home for 3 years, the famous German writer Thomas Mann. Finally PALANGA visit, a beautiful coastal city, the Lithuanian RIMINI with a sandy beach and a long main street and pedestrian traffic in the evening is full of tourists and bathers to the pier that divides the beach into two. I missed only the Hill of Crosses, which is slightly off hand and that is home to thousands of crosses planted devotion to protest and vote. In short, a beautiful country where you eat well (cepelinai of potato dumplings stuffed with meat) and drinking beers. The people are friendly, are Catholics and lively and the prices are half of ours.
