10. 04. 2004 St. Julians (Malta)
After several mishaps, an Air Malta flight landed in quest'isoletta not far from Italy.
Leaving Rome we are greeted by a tremendous rain timid rays of sunshine and a cool breeze!
After a refreshing shower meet my gentle friend Maltese: Roberta. Busibba Let's have a drink and already we see the first feature car: British driving on the left! Being a former British colony retains many small details that often make me feel the sensation of being in Britain.
Malta is a major center for the study trips (to practice English, though not in fact the language was spoken mostly Maltese, a strange language, a mixture of Latin and Arabic). There are many schools attended by students, especially Germans and Scandinavians.
Finally in the evening we went into the wild nightlife of St Julians! Maltese These are just clever, they have released a dozen clubs "free entrance" in one way where you pay only one drink (not compulsory) and then happened to dance techno music here half an hour, an hour Havana Club hip hop and R & B, another hour on that side of another type of music etc.. A very exciting night life, I did not expect that!

Today is Easter! And we have celebrated visiting Mdina, the "silent city", but very characteristic and picturesque, built by the famous "Knights of Malta."
From there we made a trip to Valletta, the capital, today really empty! I think we are the only ones around here at Easter ...
In the evening we meet two girls Roman: Marcia, and Francesca had met at the airport ... Between a beer in one of the many English pubs and discos in two jumps we spent a pleasant evening!
12. 04. 2004 Valletta (Malta)
[Nick]: We're going to Valletta by bus "62" but ... What happened? We are firm on this road for over half an hour now ...
Are dropped for a moment to check ... it is possible that we are stuck in traffic on the waterfront admiring the so-called "luzzu" (typical local boats) only for a small arrow auto broken, buffered from our bus? I asked half German: "How about if we buy a collection and gave it to us so at least we share this arrow!" And he, from his two feet, sighed quietly, "That's Malta!"
[Nick]: Valletta today is much more eventful than yesterday, all shops are open and there are hundreds of tourists everywhere.
We walked long lost in the many alleys, real labyrinths where the atmosphere is very special, I thought about how many people are so different between them, those old walls have seen throughout history, from Arabs to Africans, by the British to Sicilian ... Once at the port I stop to chat a bit with a fisherman but my question about why those so strange craft were called "luzzu", he answers: "We need to catch" I understand that the conversation would be very difficult!

Wake up at 7.10 for the first time we have breakfast here in Malta, we usually wake up for lunch! We are preparing again to leave. As always, the days fly and do not have time to unpack the suitcase that you have already filled again. We granted these few days of leisure during the second academic year that is destroying us in the true sense of the word ... At least the memories of those carefree days will give us a smile in the hardest moments that still await us in there ...
Thank you Malta
