The location 'of Cobîlea and' very important for the history of Moldova since here 'is the Orthodox church, built entirely of stone, the more' old country. Like many other religious this was built over 500 years ago by Prince and Santo of Moldova Stefan cel Mare (Stephen the Great) as a tribute to our Lord after a battle won against the Tatar-Mongol invaders.
The place where the basilica was erected was not chosen at random but rather for the fact that there was already a huge oak that 'the time had more than 2 centuries old and now with its 750 years' classified as the 'trees' old present in the Republic of Moldova. Legend has it that in the cavity 'of this oak were deposited gold coins and jewels, and with the growth of the plant these cavities' locked themselves inside while preserving a priceless treasure. Today the oak 'and dedicated to Stefan and' one of the most 'visited by Moldovan and foreign tourists interested in history. Cobîlea Soldanesti is located in the province of about 140 kilometers north of Chisinau.
