Day dedicated to the Principality of Monaco, where we arrive about 11 to go and see the changing of the guard at noon. Problematic (and very expensive) the parking of coaches. is everything ready for the next Grand Prix in Formula 1 this weekend's race takes place a vintage race cars, the roar of engines for the whole day.
We climb on foot to the fortress, with stairs, escalators, elevators, is another world, all grown in height, 35,000 people live within 2 square km of area. 35,000 lucky people who do not pay taxes (.... Even though it is not entirely true, the French residents to continue to pay to France Monaco, but it seems from what is said to not be happy!)
Here the architectural engineering gives the maximum to develop skyscrapers perched on the hill or lying on land stolen from the sea, the football stadium of the team of Monaco, hidden among the buildings, and only from above, coming from the Corniche we realize the presence. Witness the changing of the guard sighed, and soon we're about to see the Prince Albert, sin ... ..
Around the principality, with stops at vantage points, we look at the Oceanographic Museum (it would have been interesting to visit but time is short!), The garden surrounding it, visit the cathedral (the Monegasque have a reverence for Grace and Rainier and their graves full of flowers is shown) and then the Palazzo dei Principi, with some rooms very well appointed furnishings and wonderful (if you're in a group entry is 5 €, including audio guide). Beside the cathedral is the Palace of Justice and the guide makes us notice the motto of Grimaldi "Deo Juvante", "With the help of God." Then lunch at Italian restaurant "L'Aurore" and then down to Monaco to reach the bus, with several stops to take pictures at the thundering race cars that is going on below us. Paradoxically Monaco stores are less expensive than the French Riviera.
