WEEK END IN MONTECARLO

At least once in life we must allow ourselves the luxury of making even a single weekend in the French Riviera, this place so close to our coast ligurian but so different.
The whole trip was organized by my boy, was the gift for my 22nd birthday style romantic vacation (thanks love! Kiss kiss). We spent one week end, but it is enough to make us taste the beautiful landscapes and decide to come back soon.

 

June 10, 2005
After almost 3 hours, we arrive at its destination, the hotel is situated in Roquebrune Cap Martin a village just a few kilometers from the principality of Monaco, the sea has beautiful colors, the water is very transparent .. unfortunate that the air, still very fresh in June, does not enable us to be able to take a bath ..
In the afternoon we arrive at Monte Carlo, one word SPLENDIDA, it really looks like a beautiful painting of a great painter, everything is perfect .. casinos, parks, skyscrapers, ports ordinatissimo better boat or yacht. Or better and seems to 'the perfect city where everything seems to spin smoothly without any hitch, but Milan ...
Sincerely imagined the city for just the wealthy, instead we realized that yes, wealth and splendor ce n'e 'not so much as nobody has ever seen but it' also a town of up to "normal" of used much simpler to make the idea.
The thing that really impressed me more than ever, and 'was the presence of local police that the night on foot papered the town .. there was no corner of the city in which there was a someone in uniform ... fantastic, we gave an incredible sense of security ... you could run quietly and safe ... almost like Milan JJJ .. .. joke obviously all the opposite ...

In the evening we opt for a romantic dinner and enjoy the best (not the food because we felt an aperitif .. J) but the evening we decide a panorama restaurant on the harbor
... It was like a scene from the film ... and then the way to Monte Carlo by nigth
Even more beautiful at night, all lit, a must step to the casino and photos rite!
We decided to enter the Casino "for all", I say to everyone, because in fact there are 2 just 50 meters from each other and you notice the difference .. to find one in the super luxury cars parked in its entrance with butlers that after we sent down the car to accompany you to return to park the car, the entry and 'naturally selected and space in front of the entrance is crowded dozens and dozens of tourists in amazement to see the luxury car and maybe able to peck some celebrities ... we even get a say in the casino where you make the case for clothing, but say that 'some' as a games room where chic groped their luck ... the us that we did win 90 Euro! With our lucky numbers!

Alarm 7.30 the sky is covered .. but we must not kill, the coast is waiting for us ... first stop, Cannes .. arrive in the quaint area of the Old Port, where there are local features that go on until the next quarter of Le Soquet
The seafront of Cannes is the main attraction of this city by the sea ... and a beautiful walk on Boulevard de la Croisette makes us feel better .. At the end of the avenue lies the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, famous as home to the famous Film Festival in September.
For lack of time we decide not to embark the ferry with the destination Archipelago Lerins, (just in front of Cannes) a set of islands for those who wish, perhaps only for a few days, disconnect with the life of the city el'affollamento. Easily reached by ferry or private boat, St. Marguerite and St. Honorat offering beaches and coves where you can enjoy a little 'sun and sea in peace.

For lunch we chose a delicious baguette prepared when a vendor in the squares on the seafront and then on the beach .. because it finally sees the sun!
The beach is very crowded, the sea a little rough .. pulls much wind (cold) the only way to resist is lie down on the towel .. and relax ..
Another destination just minutes from Cannes heading to Nice, Antibes-Juan meets the Pins, the summer resort with many shops, restaurants, beautiful deserted beaches .. port and a dock where boats and yachts, the city is also interesting from a cultural point of view, it houses the Museo Archeologico and the Museo Picasso (but we have not seen).
Antibes and Juan les Pins is a paradise for lovers of the sea as we have sandy beaches and sunny bays that stretch for about 24 kilometers. Five ports are ready to accommodate larger boats and luxurious in the world, the Vauban port and the quay is for this reason called "the billionaires."
Beaches, public or private, are long stretches of fine sand and have always different landscapes: the old city, Cap d'Antibes, the massive mountain in the background of the city.
One of the attractions of Antibes are its large marine park. Millions of tourists come every year to admire its majestic mammals.
Antibes is also the world capital of the rose, about the park that a Parisian eccentric created in the nineteenth century by planting the most rare and fragrant, and the city is now completely surrounded by this gorgeous flower that smells wonderful and the Mediterranean.

Back at the hotel .. after a long day on the French Riviera ..
In the evening we decide to eat in a restaurant in Monaco ... and that does not happen often in Monaco we decide to eat one evening by VIP and choose the restaurant which is located in the famous curve of pools (of course known to all lovers of F1) ... where practically we were seated a few weeks before sfrecciano of the single-seater formula one before us and a fantastic setting ... you want to know what went? ... yacht yacht yacht, and only seen in that perspective seems to be one above the other ....
We ate divinely and when we asked for the account we realized that actually pay 86 euro ... 1 at the first obstacle, the first 1 salmon, 1 fried mixed, 1 bottle of water and ½ liter of white wine you can do in the rare life ... what you think?
After the dinner we have taken the car to go another step to the casino, but first wanted to enjoy an automobile tour in Monaco full of light ... not a straight case mouth in which I realize now that they are in and what ' the straight-up Grand Prix of Monaco and then we do a good turn as the single ... but it will seem strange and 'beautiful ... just after the tree parallel to the straight port, salts for the casino, come under the charm of the chicane Mirabeau ( takes the name from the majestic hotel) and then by lowering a little 'to tell the truth on foot up a tunnel for the city that practically comes out again at the port, via the pool, then e' again on the goal ... quiet but a tour in which you can admire the entire Monte Carlo "marina."
Parked the car in a parking lot in front of the casino, to enter into this evening, but unlike the previous evening, this time the luck we turn our backs ... patience ... and the important 'not to overdo anything, but just have fun with, which in sometimes reward enough!

A location that immediately brings to mind words like Monaco - Casino and Grand Prix F1
but in reality there's more as the Oceanographic Museum, designed by Jacques Cousteau, with its adventurous search oltreoceaniche.
Another recommended step is the Japanese Gardens, created to satisfy a wish of Princess Grace, and even the Cathedral of Monaco, completely rebuilt, and the clock tower of the Palazzo del Principe in white stone from La Turbie, dedicated to the Immaculate Conception. Our weekend is almost over ... we start towards Italy ... but before entering Motorway decide to stop in Menton, beautiful town on the sea with lots of shops and crafts, even here the sea has beautiful color for the rest ...
