Four days in Montenegro, little casket of treasures.. My trip to the Balkans
This small country has proved a real surprise. Exceeding all expectations.
The Bay of Kotor fjord with its villages overlooking the sea, which seems an alpine lake is amazing.
The peace and tranquility of Kotor, Perast and the mountain village of NJEGUSI contrast sharply with the nightlife in Budva, frequented mostly by Russians, and its beaches are crowded, but everywhere there is care and cleaning. The Montenegrin people is different from the stereotype you have in mind. Friendly, polite, almost a small order .. Swiss!
Also try the excellent cuisine made ??from local produce and fresh fish to be enjoyed in the many niches in the sea. A concentration of beauty.
Bay of Kotor
We entered from the border in
Montenegro Croatian Plocica, we crossed the city of Herceg Novi at the mouths and went directly to
Kotor. The road runs along the length of the fjord and was immediately immersed in a real postcard. Gunti in
Kotor we placed at the apartments Bogdanovic, truly advised, positioned along the sea in the village of Dobrota. It 'a villa run as a family, divided into comfortable apartments all with balcony overlooking the fjord. The owner is very kind, rooms new, clean, nicely furnished, free parking and wifi ... good price. Considering the heat and a little tired after an excellent lunch of
Montenegro, we spent the afternoon relaxing, fully enjoying the view from our balcony. In the evening we went to
Kotor, which is more than enough two hours to visit the entire old town. They were tangible signs of the earthquake that has destroyed it, but you just get lost in its narrow streets to fall in love.
Bay of Kotor
Today whole day dedicated to the area of Boka Kotorska.
Unforgettable breakfast on the deck of dobrota, punctuated only by the sound of the sea. First visit to
Perast,
Kotor even more beautiful perhaps, but in reality formed only by a road through the village. Here we embarked to visit the shrine of the Virgin on the nearby island of Scarpello. There is a small ferry company that transports, but is much faster and cheaper to go with someone in place that provides his small boat. No wait, it's cheaper and for a paltry tip made ??us do a nice tour also includes the island of San Giorgio. The island is small, needless to say that the view is splendid. The sanctuary is small but rich, for one euro will also visit the Museum, much more than interesting characteristic. A must see. Back in
Perast, and completed a tour of the fjord we chose a stretch of beach where you can spend the day at sea. The water is clean, but you still have the feeling of swimming in the lake! Late in the evening back to
Kotor to still enjoy the atmosphere.
Transfer to Budva via Cetinje & Lovcen
This morning we leave and face the road from that rises to the National Park
Lovcen. Indeed it is quite spectacular, it is good to do a bit of attention. Going up the view is unique to the Bay of
Kotor to discover the entire fjord from Herceg Novi in ??Tivat. Breathtaking views. At the top you come to the village of NJEGUSI, so renowned for the production of ham and cheese. Both are very good: the cheese is served seasoned with olive oil and ham is very tasty and smoked. Here at NJEGUSI the impression of being catapulted back in time. Going further into the park, the road leads down to the town of
Cetinje, former capital of
Montenegro. Everything you need to see is the main street, which was left at the time. I would not recommend going there on purpose, but the whole walk worth. Continuing on, you come to the
Budva Riviera. The city built near the old town is really big, chaotic and certainly not beautiful. To be understood very similar to Turkish Antalya. Together with the nearby Becici and Milocer actually create a great waterfront crowded. The first impression was not the best. Soon we moved south to
Sveti Stefan where we spent the afternoon at the beach.
Sveti Stefan is definitely impressive, the real postcard from
Montenegro. In the late evening and after a bit of relaxation in the hotel pool, we went to the old town of
Budva, which only now beginning to like. Inside the walls, things change and you start to breathe peace and serenity. Very beautiful rooms close to the town and overlooking the sea, I highly recommend the restaurant Novi Stari Grad say that
Budva is the queen of the coast, it certainly is the nightlife. Its waterfront comes alive at night and in addition to numerous stalls, there were several bars and discos on the beach. Seems as if the soul night in Moscow moved here ......
Overnight at the Hotel Admiral, comfortable and clean enough for services.
Montenegro riviera
Today day devoted entirely to the sea ...
We decide to leave umbrellas and sunbeds, and turn to the south of
Budva, looking for some beach or secluded cove a little more. Indeed, the whole coast is quite crowded, but he who seeks finds ... so after a visit to the monastery of Praskvika, we can find Plaza Beach, south of Rijeka Rezevici. The sea is very clean, like Croatia, with many bars and beaches of services ...
We spend the evening back in
Budva, where we visit the citadel and its churches. Tomorrow awaits the day of the trip ... so tougher to bed early
Going southwards
This morning we depart early to the south, along the entire coast of
Montenegro up to Bar Here we leave the coast and the inland sea and we go direct to the Albanian border of
Montenegro Sukobin .......... See you, we leave all that excited about this small country has given us.
