Four steps through the channels
E 'was an organized trip to the second, with a few days of vacation remaining and little money to spend. We flew with Virgin on Brussels from Rome and then, after visiting the Belgian capital, we went by train to Holland, to visit Amsterdam.
I regret that it can not be precise with the information and above all not to have many photos (a few decent ones). I just want to give some of my impressions, some memory of that wonderful trip.
This was the first trip after euro. I must say that when we appreciated the convenience, after years of "change" and expensive commissions. We were pretty naive and looking back, we have repeatedly said that we were pretty naive.
The city is beautiful, a bit chaotic and full of tourists, many sbandati at the center and in the "red". But in the end, we have never had huge problems, if not the demand for money, and so prominent.
Another offer we have often heard in the streets of Amsterdam is the supply of drugs (all kinds) and prostitutes (even in the presence of my girls are not big problems).
We stayed at the Waterfront Hotel (http://www.hotelwaterfront.nl/). The hotels are quite expensive in the central area and the quality level we felt it was not at the price. Another important thing (I do not know if it is still today) is that all credit card payments have a surcharge of 4%. I sincerely believe that this is something quite wrong (reading in the rules of Mastercard or Visa, it seems that is not even legitimate).
Many shops in town that sell soft drugs but also jewelry and diamonds in particular: we recommend a visit to the house of Anne Frank (exciting) and a tour of the channels (a must for a overall view of the city).
Unable to turn Amsterdam by car if you do not want to take public transportation (trams work well) you are advised to rent a bicycle. If they find a thousand but two recommendations:
- Complied with the signs because you are wearing very easily
- Always put a chain, because if the steal with equal ease
The center is not very big and èfacilmente traveled on foot. We want more than 2 / 3 days to visit Amsterdam, I do not know if we were lucky, at the end of March the weather was good (not cold, rainy). Good trip to Amsterdam.
