Norway came in by train from Sweden and dropped to Lillihammer at the Olympic Winter Games of 1994. The town was swarming with people from around the world, experience made at the same time at the Games two years ago in Albertville in France. In this journey but I do not want to talk about sports and the many races but views of the localities affected. The Games have been the pretext of seeing tourist resorts as Tretten where I stayed in a Pension, Hunderfossen was located where the track for the bob and dressed in Lillehammer course feast with multicolored parades, shows, etc. in the square. I have also taken advantage to make a trip to the North wrapped in the Winter dall'abbondante snow. So partly by train and partly by bus I came Trontheim and Bodo (where I already was) and I first saw the islands of Lofoten and Vesteralen.
Cathedral Trontheim, reached by train, I was welcomed with an abundant snowfall offrendomi all the charm of its Gothic structure. Then I continued by bus to Bognes from where a ferry to reach directly Vesteralen avoiding several kilometers and the city of Narvik. After crossing the bridge that connects the island with Hinnoya Sortland on Langoya I slept in a room rentals of Stokmarknes. Early in the morning I took the small boat which stops at all ports of Vesteralen and Lofoten, small villages, the largest of which is Svolvær, all with colorful wooden houses and facilities for drying fish. The islands emerge from the sea with the majestic mountains completely bare of vegetation and covered with snow. The small cruise stops at Bodo, kissed by a pale sun and bitten by frost. With a local bus in the outskirts we see close to a natural bridge called a vortex maelstroemen. Among the modern city and the vortex nearby the only interesting thing is a big beautiful moon that shows where almost human height. I come away Trontheim Lillehammer. At the end of the Games stop in Oslo (already visited on a previous trip) for review, this time in the Snow, Karl Johans gate to the gardens and the Royal Palace, City Hall and the lungoporto.
Do not miss: Trontheim. Lofoten islands and Vesteralen. For more information about this country see the Tour NORWAY.
