The new year is dedicated to the travel party this time too!
The reason I brought in Krakow is that it has won a contract held by my university to participate in a sort of stage "mini erasmus" in the universities of Stockholm and Krakow. He spent the Christmas holidays, I am ready for this new adventure, even if the first stage of the stage was held in Stockholm before Christmas!
I've always heard good things about Krakow: anyone who has been described to me a delightful little miniature Prague, a central square that can trigger a syndrome Sthendhal, a city for everyone, young and vital, economic, many sites of great interest also in the area ... I can only confirm! Unfortunately, due to an examination at the door, I could not devote much time to travel, especially to the side more festive and lively city with its many cafes ... but I can say that it is a delightful place from all points of view! The big advantage is that it's really a human, then turns around on foot in length and breadth. Furthermore, life does not really cost anything, everything from food to transport, it is super cheap!
I stayed Orbis Hotel Cracovia, just outside the old city center, 5 minutes walk from Main Market Square ... strongly recommended! Clean, spacious with private bathroom ... the single room is € 15 per night!! Fantastic! For transport, the university has offered the Polish students Anoi the weekly ticket for public transport, efficient, however, that we used only to reach the clinics out of town ... for the rest strictly on foot or by taxi alternative, really cheap !
The only sore point, the time ... there never was a clear day and did nothing but snow ... for me that are not very fond of the typical rigors of these countries has been a real pain to be outdoors! I also find that, as the snow will be able to also create a special atmosphere, a city give their best in good weather! So when we come back, I'll definitely summer!
Tip: Do not miss the salt mine just outside the city! is very popular, was also named a UNESCO World Heritage Site! spend two hours different in one place ... all mine is delicious but the best moment was the visit of the cathedral (all of salt!) that the miners were organized at 70 feet below ground! Beautiful ... of course ... do not recommend only claustrophobic as the layout is great, you feel you are under the ground!
Enjoy your trip in beautiful Krakow
