Ten days in an even not so much considered country...
Ten days for our standard, not a lot, so in the spring of 1998 decided in Portugal, the destination that seems to hit you in so few days. We believed also to find warm and sunny, and was not really so: we found instead a little 'sunshine, some clouds, a little' of rain, but mostly very cold wind coming the Atlantic, a wind that accompanied us throughout the journey at least one place on the coast. Our journey starts in Lisbon, where to stay for only the first night because the plane landed shortly after midnight and we can not leave immediately. Hotel Rex, by reservation, is nice and clean, and we're fine. But the next morning we leave immediately to the north of the country, with the car rental, with the intention of returning to Lisbon for the last part of the holiday. Our idea is to avoid the south of Portugal, since we do not really like the beach life. But for us also a little 'sea aim at Estoril and Cascais. The sea is very beautiful, the rocks and landscapes as well, most of the beaches, but a cold Executioner, pulls an evil wind, for bathing and we must let stand the best food in the sea and watch the houses that admired dot the coastline since coming into the sea.
The next day we aim to Sintra, where we see the ruins of an enormous castle, but above all the great Moorish palace. The next morning we go to Obidos, a beautiful village virtually all enclosed in a space of wall. He finally warm, and we enjoy to the end, almost all along the walls on foot. After aiming at Obidos Porto, beautiful city, and Viana do Castelo, which is absolutely negligible, although with a beautiful beach. After we head towards the interior, from Braga until Peneda Geres National Park, nothing too special. From there, take a fall, heading to Vila Real and Castelo Branco.
From there we head towards Fatima for our afternoon "mystical" (and is also enthralling experience for those who are not religious), and then return to Lisbon. It houses the President hotel, attached to the former Rex. Three days that the capital deserves all spent to visit the center and the periphery, the Tower of Belem, monasteries, monuments, and also the bridge that connects giganetsco in Setubal. Lisbon will also appreciate the cuisine, varied and tasty, especially with fish restaurants of the economic Barrio. After 10 days in the pouring rain Portugal salutes our off to Italy. Tap into the air, airline, we need the good fish. Just to not forget.
